Niagara Falls - 8/30-9/6

My mom and I go on a trip every year, and this year, it was her turn to choose the location. She chose Niagara Falls. Granted, I was not looking foward to it, but the more info I obtained, the more excited I became.

We took a red-eye on Air Tran with a layover in Atlanta, flying into Buffalo, NY. Both flights were un-eventful, unless you count having "Carlton" from the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air on our flight exciting. Actually, he's really nice, sat in coach nonetheless, and is super short!

We arrived in Buffalo only to discover none of our bags made it. I was both and considering I had packed all of my belongings because I did not want to carry on anything with me. Boy was that a mistake, and my mom, of course, was like :Þ

We finished filing a report and headed out to Canada...we stayed at the Sheraton and had an amazing view of the falls. Had it not been for such a great room, I think I would have taken a flight to Vegas the next day.

Not much to do we soon realized, so my mom and I pretty much hit up the casino every night...this is where my Vegas addiction comes from, so when somone calls me crazy, I simply say, "Can't help it, it's in my genes!" Everything is within walking distance, so that was definitely a plus.

Our luggage didn't end up arriving until the night before we had to leave....so yup, I stayed one day inside the room and did not leave in the hopes that our luggage would arrive. But to no avail...mom and I went shopping for clothes, undies, etc.

Had it not been for our luggage catastophre, it would have been a really great and relaxing trip.

Highlights:
-Finally receiving luggage and not missing a single item!
-Dinner at the revolving dining room on top of the Skylon....I felt it moves a bit faster than the one at the Stratosphere , but either way, I get motion sickness from both. Food was great, although, NEVER order an appletini from there...they don't know what they are doing.
-Maid of the Mist - great short boat ride trip where you get soaked, but you get some of the best pics on earth.
-Mom no longer being allowed to choose the next 3 destinations!

 

If your mom doesn't choose the next 3 destinations, why do I get the feeling she's going to be going to:
- Vegas
- Vegas
- Vegas?

LOL

I loved the Maid of the Mist tours every time I've been on it, plus the attraction where you actually go behind the small falls in the middle of the island. I think that was my favorite part of all.

 

So Mom... since it's my decision this time... I pick VEGAS!

What did you think of our casino. Did you go to the Fallsview Casino(new one) or Casino Niagara? Both smoke free which sucks and no free drinks unless it is alcohol free.

 

^We went to both, but mostly to the Fallsview as it was much closer to us! We both thought that the newer one was much better, and had better luck as well.

Yeah, out of those 3, one will definitely be a Vegas trip...
