It looked like it was not necessary to be booked at an MGM property to redeem points this time, unless I missed something :hmmm:

I could be wrong but I think you may be referring to HGS rewards offered to VIP MyVegas players. You had to be booked at a non-comped MGM property in order to redeem those, but I don't think you have to if you're redeeming your own accumulated gift points.

I'm due to fly out on the 5th, so will have to see if I can get any HGS reward on myVegas and redeem it at the players desk like I did in 2019.

If not, will have to come out a few days earlier, and do it that way.

You did have to be staying at an MGM property to redeem the freeplay, iirc.

mLife points, no, but IF Playstudios does an mLife HGS redemption (as they have in the past), a non-Playstudios comp will be required in order to use HGS points from Playstudios..

I will contact my host, but Playstudios probably doesn't have any details yet.

Now is the time to book my mLife comp rooms and airfare.

Mine didn't have any information. I get it, it's early.

Room rates are particularly high for the December days, with only a few comps. Anyone else seeing the same thing? All other days are pretty wide open for me.

Oh yes, that’s true, I forget about the myVEGAS requirements on top of the MLife ones  Well if/when your host does have more info, I’m all ears

I've already got a suite at NYNY booked 5th-12th, so hopefully they don't require 2 nights stay and I can just dip in on the 5th to cash mine (providing there is a myVegas HGS reward).

I've just booked 26th-29th at Bellagio, and then moving over to Ballys for the weeknights cheap. 3rd-5th is $250 a night at Park MGM, lol.

If they do require a 2 night stay, it sounds like you would qualify on both weekends with those 3 MGM property reservations, no? I think if any multiday reservation lands on any of HGS dates, you'd be fine.

I just checked December 1-5 on my account and Mandalay, Nomad, and Delano cost money. Delano cost a LOT of money. Every other place is comp those dates but my MGM Grand offer says "4 nights in a suite" and I only have staywell grand king, normally have about a dozen different choices. Mandalay is comp 2 of the 4 nights but Delano and Nomad are no comp nights at all out of those 4. Meanwhile, Bellagio, Aria, and VDara are all comp the whole time, so sounds like Mandalay/ Delano are probably highly booked for a convention or event. No telling with Nomad; not one night free but suites comped all dates at Park MGM.

Edit: what's super weird is, I just looked at Delano because, at almost $500 per night on casino offer, I was curious if only the 2br suite was open. That was a strip view 2 king, but weird part is, wednesday and thursday are over $600 per night, while Fri/Sat are about $300. So I checked Mandalay and see an even more extreme version of that. Thursday is over $400 for a base room, Friday is comp. So yah, wtf?!?

Yeah, hopefully I can just grab on the day of check-in for the 2nd.

    I'll just find somewhere cheap(er) for the 3-5th, as Ballys is $500 for 3rd & 4th, too.

Strangely enough, my November and December calendar is fully comped right now, but I'm having my host book the two HGS trips.

So, my host booked me for both HGS weekends. Both are four night stays. Airfares are booked to complete my A-list renewal.

Bellagio and Aria wanted $208 in resorts fees for either stay, so I opted to stay at NY-NY and Park MGM, with no resort fees.

Costco even got me a GREAT rate (through Alamo) on a rental car for the second weekend of <$120 for four days. Still working on a car for the first weekend

My plan is to take whatever maximum offer(s) that mLife is going to let Playstudios offer, and then see if I can get a "custom" for 500K more HGS points (I have 30M LPs and counting).

I've booked one weekend at Mirage. Haven't stayed there in 5 years but love the central location and the atmosphere. I won a good bit when I stopped by there a few months ago.

Still deciding on where to stay for weekend 2, and that's if I go both weekends. :wiggle:

Well, both of my weekends are contingent on Playstudios having SOMETHING similar to what they've offered in the past. If not, I will cancel both weekends.

I booked weekend one at Delano to use up AMEX Platinum benefits, and weekend two at Vdara because it was the “best” (HEAVY emphasis on the quote there… gawd damn :blink::faint:) value of the properties :) Might try to play some at an MLife property during one of my next two trips to see if I can at least get a comp to Luxor for the December 3-5 weekend :hmmm:

Rodeo finals start 12/2 which might account for the higher rates. I don't have nearly enough HGS points to care, but I checked and it'd be better for me to go before thanksgiving. (Though Im also planning a cruise around the same time.)

Does anyone remember how many points it took to redeem for freeplay? Was it 15,000 points for $50 in freeplay?

Also, last year they offered bonus points when you booked your stay - was a 2020 only thing (vegas was still pretty quiet last December - I miss those days)? Or do they usually offer some type of bonus when booking?

I've got completely comped at the Aria for the second weekend. I'm surprised they are doing this Thanksgiving weekend.
