Thinking of heading to Tampa Hardrock this weekend. Curious what table minimums have been? Is there any shoe based BJ or is it all CSM? Would be there on a Saturday day/evening.

When I was there I didnt see any kind of anything under $25 but I wasnt paying real close attention either and didnt even see the whole place. But I did pay attention when I first got there (also a saturday around 8pm) and I went down one whole row of various different games and every one I saw was $25+

thanks! I figured as much but was hoping for $10. I hope someday $5 and $10 tables return doubtful. Hard Rock is nice but I’ve never had much luck there with slots. I was hoping to play BJ instead of slots. $25 a hand is way out of this trips budget.

Well Well... plays slots for 6 hours, and some electronic craps. Couldn’t afford to play any BJ. Table minimums were at $25-$50 before dinner and $50-$75 after dinner for all games. Even casino war was $75 a hand. I’m kind of mind blown the tables were all packed. Guess I’m just poor. Most players looked to have about $500-$5000 in chips.

Slots were really full, and I still had a good time. Left down a total for $18 after a $60 meal so I’ll call that a heck of a win. My bets ranged from .50 - $6.00 on slots and from $10 to $88 on electronic craps per roll.

Anyone know if casinos calculate electronic craps in on play?

Most of them count the theo (if they even have a card reader - some don't) which is very low, but most of them also offer 2x odds on it, which significantly increases the house edge on pass/odds bets, but it's still really low. Most don't give points for it but caesars gives like 1 TC per $200 in resolved bets.

Glad to hear your trip was a "win" that's encouraging! I too was shocked how many people were throwing such big money around and how crowded it was, though I did notice an enormous amount of people at the slots not playing and just there to socialize. Forgot to mention in my little TR, at about 330 or 4 am I was playing next to a gal in her mid 20s for about 20 or 30 minutes, and saw multiple dudes just walk up and start hitting on her, and that also reminds me, in spite of it being illegal in Florida but for a very limited number of medical reasons, I smelled a lot of marijuana vapes in there too. Not as much as Vegas, but I was surprised how much (and of course that's technically Seminole territory and not 100% Florida but I did notice signs about no guns or drugs)

I did notice a lot sitting at machines and not playing. Towards 10pm that wasn’t even the case. Almost every machine was being fed, and every table seat was taken. They now have bubble craps and that new larger electronic craps table, I played the new electronic one but honestly think I like the bubble better. Curious if I see any offers from them. I used to get a few bucks if free play but haven’t in a while. This time I must have had quite a lot of coin in and my bets mostly were .90, 1.50, 2.25, 3.00 on slots. Hit $300 on one machine in a .75 bet which was a great mood changer. I like the place and have been there now 3 times. Great selection of slots. Wasn’t able to order a single drink in 6 hours of play.

After a 15-year love affair with Vegas and then a few more post Katrina years in Biloxi, we turned to our own back yard for our casino kicks. Prior to Covid, my wife and I had visited HR weekly for the past ten years. We found the place uncomfortably packed in the spring when so many visited Florida. Even after the winter tourists departed, we would see HR filled to the brim on most any holiday and weekend night. Accordingly, we turned to the weekday late afternoons and early evenings and had no trouble playing our favorites. Over the years, we have regretfully seen this casino triple in size. We have also witnessed some incredible wins. There have been people winning $50K by hitting a sequential royal on dollar VP, a million plus on the $5 Monopoly jackpots, and $10k plus on $ video Keno. The strangest of all was the fellow I sat next to from Orlando playing video roulette with $100 bets walking out with $90K in winnings. As it turned out, the HR staff knew him well and advised as he had enjoyed two previous sessions winning $100K+ in the weeks before. Whatever it could have been, either he had figured out the randomness of the automated roulette or was incredibly lucky. We have walked out with over $14K ourselves. My point to all this is that you may wish to adjust your schedule to find a friendlier atmosphere in which to play if possible. You may also wish to try your luck on some things you normally would not consider. As a local, you have a much better chance of becoming familiar with the machines and the dealers and casino ideocracies. Have fun!

I am outside Jacksonville, so hard rock is far but close. It’s way bigger each time then I remember. I remember the first time going we thought the second smoke free section was the only casino. This time we realized how big it was. If I go back it’s going to be like a Wednesday or Thursday. We had some decent hits, and some really thirsty machines. They seem to keep new games coming there. This time I played some really strange new games which were fun. It was way too full for my liking this visit, I just wish Jacksonville would build a casino.

I've never been to an Indian casino, but will probably spend the day at Hard Rock in Tampa later this week. It's been a very long time since I played $25 (and $100) min. tables, but hope to find something a bit less on a weekday. I've also never "bought" a drink while playing, so my expectations are far from Vegas quality. Anyway, I should be able to share my observations next week.

Been a few months since I’ve been but most BJ during day was $15 for CSM and $25 for shoe. These typically double in late afternoon/evening. No free drinks except in high limit rooms but if you’ve been at the table for awhile try asking pit boss if they can add some $$ to your card or buy you a round.

As threatened two posts up, here's my brief impression of Hard Rock Tampa last Friday.

It's a good thing I hadn't expected to find the $5 and $10 tables that I had become accustomed to in LV or I would have been a lot more disappointed. Lowest BJ was $15 shoe games that quickly went to $25 in the afternoon with no grandfathering. (I had originally intended to go on Thursday, which might have helped. I also prefer 2-deck pitch games, but "when in Rome," so I played $25 shoe.) And while I wasn't expecting "free" drinks, I certainly wasn't expecting to pay $7-8 for a beer. I had wanted to play UTH, but not at $15 min. I can't remember Pai Gow minimums, but by the time I found them, I was ready to flee.

Masks were strictly enforced, which certainly didn't add to the fun. Overall, the HR is much larger and nicer than expected – just not what I'm used to. Will I go back the next time I'm in the neighborhood? Possibly, but not on a weekend.
