I’ve got some insights and experience with Wynn that I can share.

For BJ theo, you take your avg bet and multiply that by the number of hours played and then divide that number by 2 to get a rough idea of your theo. So an average bet of $1,000 for ten hours a day would create a theo of approximately $5,000 for that day.

Wynn offered me upfront promo chips last year for the first time. I didn’t take them up on the offer and I’m not sure if it was a one time thing or something that will be available again in the future.

I also have been getting a 5% loss rebate regardless of what I received in upfront comps. I think international players can get 10% or possibly more.

With regards to upfront comps, I usually just request a Tower Suites King room instead of a Salon or Parlor suite. I get RFB, but rarely spend too much. I also prefer to try to get the hard comps.

I like to time my Wynn trips to coincide with gift card/shopping spree events and/or tickets to events at T-Mobile arena where Wynn has a floor level bunker suite.

I used to be able to ask my host for a list of upcoming events/promos and she would send the full list for the next two or three months. But, she was sending me an internal document that I don’t think she was supposed to be sending me and after two or three times she stopped sending that document. I wish I would have kept one of them. It basically had the criteria for who qualified for each event and at what level they qualified. The criteria was basically based on three things: credit line amount (and/or front money), theoretical loss from previous trip(s), and actual loss from previous trip(s). They also had different criteria for slot players and international players. This was for big table and slot tournaments, big events like the Super Bowl parties and Chinese New Year parties, and shopping spree/gift card events. It also had criteria for who had to internally approve tickets to certain shows and events (T-Mobile arena type events).

I’ll give you one example from the event sheet. For a shopping spree/gift card event, that document basically told me what their criteria was between those getting $5,000, and those getting $7,500, and those getting $10,000. You had to have a certain actual loss and/or theo, and a certain amount of credit line and/or front money to qualify for the different card amounts.

Also, when I went through a stretch of losing trips, there were at least two trips where my trips didn’t line up with a gift card event and I was able to negotiate with my host to give me regular Wynn gift cards. These were actually better than their event gift cards because they didn’t have an expiration date within 30 days like the other shopping spree cards do, and they could still be used in almost every store located within the Wynn/Encore.

I stopped being able to get those regular Wynn gift cards when I started winning, but I have been able to negotiate some upfront “airfare” (cash) the last couple of trips, and this next trip will also coincide with their spring shopping spree/gift card event.

So, the bottom line is that Wynn does give some hard comps under the right circumstances once you are an established player (if you qualify).

 

For some reason, this post jarred my memory that the OP may be able to get some table games promo chips at Venetian. I have received them in the past, but my average play there was higher than the OP. Also, keep in mind that the promo chips were equivalent of one or two of my typical bets at the tables. So it wasn't much of an incentive for me, but it might be for the OP (if he qualifies). And @vegasmeister excellent info is helpful, but keep in mind that he plays at a level much higher than a mid roller

 

I think VP will do a match bet coupon up to $500.

 

I have only played at V/P for a few minutes, and not since 2009, but they are offering me promo chips to give them a try. I get better offers elsewhere so I haven’t taken them up on it yet.

I also get a good amount of freeplay table vouchers and “airfare” (cash) at Planet Hollywood. When I lose my credit line from drop in play at Caesars, I always drop by the host office and can always get some promo chips, and have also had them give me “airfare” as a credit towards my credit line.

When I lose my credit line at Aria, I will stop into the host office and they will give me a 5% loss rebate credit towards my credit line also. However, at Aria, they will deduct any other comps you have received from this 5% number.

It’s also important to note that not all promo chips are created equal. Some are single use chips, where they take the promo chips, win or lose. I think the V/P promo chips are single use, at least the ones they are currently offering me were when I asked.

The Planet Hollywood promo chip vouchers and Caesars promo chips are multi-use (they are good until you lose a hand). The one or two times I have had promo chips at the Cosmo they were also multi-use.

 

Haha... I thought the same thing. That is low-end High Roller play at many, MANY casinos. Hope I get to that level someday!

 

For those want to know the theo for playing BJ at good rules (usually HL room tables), this is it.
Forget about the hands per hour guesstimate, or the house edge numbers. Those are garbage.
The casinos actually use the simple rule to calculate your theo: 0.5 bet per hour.
(For some casinos the number is lower than 0.5,
or even considerably lower at one famous Strip casino, I don't want to name it here.)
