In my mind, it is almost always better to use cash and shop for the best price of the coffee maker you want. I would then use GGWU points for the Visa card or free play.

I've gotten most of the March offers referenced above but nothing much for April yet except one free play offer. Fingers crossed they pop in soon given that we are now in February.

Basically given up on it. My husband says we will skip the race and I should go by myself at my convenience. If I get an offer for fall race he will go with then. Still no offers for March or April other than a $70 FP. I’ll just book last minute comp only when I decide to go.

I got offers in November for dates where I already had a room booked at Caesars Palace, after having the reservation. Not saying they never did this, but this policy would be 2-digit IQ. If I looked at a date and didnt book, it most likely means I either havent decided yet whether I'm coming, didnt think offers were good enough, or I booked at a competitor. Seems like the strategy here would be to give offers for dates you looked at and didnt book to either entice you to come or entice you to bring your business there from whatever competitor you booked. But I dont deny, especially lately, that CET seems to be doing a lot of things that indicates they dont understand that there are other places people can go in Vegas.

Their calculation logic has never made sense to me. Unfortunately I ran into that a few times. I was advised by host at that time since I can get comp rooms anyway- don’t start digging into the calendar until I see the offers. It actually seems to run a lot like Delta does (or at least did) with their reward flights. If you looked at a flight w miles, then held off a day, the miles cost increased on that flight (I’ve had it even double). However if you then select different days or flights & wait another day the 1st flight you really wanted went back to original miles cost. I pretty much gave up flying Delta after SW moved into MSP just because of the frustration (except for work trips-it doesn’t seem to be as much variance when you are paying out of pocket). So basically if they think you want it they will not offer.

I actually had a $100 ‘Super Free Play’ just show up yesterday for Feb- only 2 weeks out!! (Other spring freeplay is $70-big drop). It’s also half the value of my Nov-Jan offers that I just re-checked so it’s frustrating. The overcomp & decrease in daily play excuse doesn’t fly for a sudden drop as of 1/31 when I didn’t even play last year to cause a decrease. (Vegas closed down & they cancelled my spring trip). At the beginning of this I was told comps wouldn’t be affected by not being able to travel because of Covid. Now seriously doubting that.

My spring trip may actually be through 3rd party company. There is a regional junket company (WoJo) that filled the rest of the seats on the Biloxi junket I booked w/CET last month. CET must have shared my info. They are offering free trips to Paris LV several times over the next couple of months for 4 nights. For me it would be a better value to skip the $70 FP & use the free flight - save my SW miles for later.

Also just received a last minute "super bonus" for later this month, a bit higher than other offers. Bookings must be down?

The last minute offers is such BS and is just so ridiculous and NOT smart. During this health crisis, especially, folks are planning even MORE, not less, and yet last minute offers. Geez. So annoying.

For what its worth, I know Caesars backend software (unless Eldorado changed it without a single cosmetic change somehow) is Salesforce. They have been lobbyinf hard to get my workplace to buy this, and one of the features they brag about constantly is the ability to show different prices randomly to site-configurable percentages of traffic and keep very specific metrics about each visit for trend and data analysis. For example, they can tell the system to show 50% of visitors to show 100% proce for Augustus rooms, let's say that's $100. Then 30% see a 125% price and 10% see 150% and the really lucky 10% sees 200% (whatever they set it to) so that the site AI can find people's breaking point. Similar features exist for things like offers, and it can certainly track users and accounts and treat them differently based on activity, so it's not far fetched at all, it's just real stupid to do it to people who are loyal and or higher rated players in the case that they look and say "nah, I'll pass on that deal" like what genius thinks "OK, they didn't bite. Let's make the deal worse! That'll hook em in!" (There is some psychology behind that but again, totally stupid game to play with your best customers).

@MCann - definitely! Complete logic for marketing and income. At Kwik Trip if they charge 2.99 for 6 glazer donuts they know they sell. What happens if we charge 3.49? Consistent sales, decrease etc.

I have often (when not logged in) seen room prices jump when SW or a big airline has a sale. People have a tendency to not book a flight unless they know they have a room to stay in. Airlines have a big sale, raise room rates. Probably another variable in the same software.

I ran into that software item when I was looking at NYE several years back (2013). Three different browsers showed different rates for NYE (all other nights comped). That host said book the cheapest one I saw fast myself because he couldn’t even get the $55 rate to show up on his computer. He indicated they market a variety of rates based on locale, etc. Sounds exactly like that software. I’d just never noticed a rate variance because everything was comped.

But yes, why screw over the people who are cycling through a minimum of five grand a day. (I had notes to figure comp value on it but I lost it in the move). I know that isn’t much money for high rollers but it still has always provided great comps.

I’m still so confused why the 2 offers I have dropped to less than half (or half) & the rest stopped (for Vegas-tons for Council Bluffs & Biloxi plus junkets). No nice mailed brochure with what my offers are for the month etc. I know they also vary offers based on recipients zip code-where they live also. However mine went from one town to the town next to it. Not one state to another.

I wouldn’t keep whining about it if they’d just give me a straight answer lol.

I noticed a trend in prices going up if you looked, then looked at another room or property, the went back, but it appears to be cookie or session based, depending on the day, so you can circumvent this in incognito or private modes, or by switching devices, or when session based, by logging out. It was poorly programmed and poorly implemented. I've never seen any such behavior with offers personally, but there does seem to be some disparity between people here and their play habits vs offers. And things like me having air charter flight offers but not a single comp night in a decent room at caesars palace, or the time it told me a forum classic room was $179 a night but NOBU was free (and for what its worth that's when I went Christmas 2019 and when I called they said the only thing they could put me in on their end was Augustus fountain view...but not Nobu lol whaaat??)
