Despite the restrictions and limitations that are in place, I have enjoyed my many visits to Las Vegas this year. Admittedly it is a different vibe right now, but that’s to be expected until things return to ‘normal.’ In the mean time I will continue to visit, enjoy myself (safely), and support the many workers who are keeping the city alive. Looking forward to my December trip, and to many more to come!

Has anyone figured out or seen the definition of "active" eating or drinking? Do you wear the mask until you are served? Wear it while you eat except for when you take a bite or drink? Is sitting at the bar with a drink active or do you have to mask between drinks?

    Gotta win this trip.

Every place we have ate has asked that you wear the mask tell your food is served we have been to Fat Choy, Strat Diner, Jerry's coffee shop and Lowery's in our observations most people have been good about this.

We decided to proceed with our trip as well. We will be in town from this Wednesday 11/25 through Monday 11/30. After the press conference last night, we made reservations at several restaurants on Open Table. We're staying at Delano and have reservations in Mandalay Bay, Planet Hollywood, Paris, Caesars, Cromwell and Battista's. As long as they can honor their reservations with the new 25% limit, we should be all set for meals.

When were in town in early September and early October, we kept our expectations in check and enjoyed both visits. We will update here if we run across anything that would be of interest. Stay safe everyone, Cheers!

When we are seated and they bring water/chips or something, we have taken off the mask for the meal. As a courtesy, we have put on when we are ordering. They also ask that you put on the mask if you go to the restroom.

I don’t love these restrictions, but I’m happy Sisolak didn’t shut down Vegas again, yet. I’ll be in town 12/6–12/11. Two nights at CP and three at The D. I’m really interested to see how they’ll handle restaurant reservations. I’ll report back on my observations,

I can't see how the reservation system is all that much changed in the how of it all. Whether at full or 1/4 capacity, that's x tables with y seats allowed. Sure, supply is way down but the logistics of it all have been proven up all over the country and it's not like it's these restaurateurs' first rodeo, in general.

I think lack of clarity for 'actively' eating or drink has been a major part of arguments about mask policies. Seems place to place even in the same state/city/casino it means something different. I know in flights enforcement has been varied. One flight, they asked people to put mask on if you have more than say 30 seconds of not eating/drink. For example, if you had a bottle of water and took a sip every few minutes, you had to put mask back on between sips. Other flights just having a drink or food in front of you meant you could have your mask off. I believe this is not the intention of the policies, but due to recent online videos and such workers let it go as to not cause an altercation.

As for restaurants, generally I kept mask as much as possible, but many places would explain their policy. Some were once you got food or a drink on the table you could take mask off until you were done with your meal. Some had policy that you had to have some food on the table, so between apps and your main course if there was a gap you had to put mask back on. Almost all said if you get up from your table to goto the restroom or for some other reason, you have to put mask back on.

Good recap, EzE. Standards for our travels have been mask on until seated at your table. Put it on whenever you are away from the table until out the door. We always put our masks back on when the staff comes to the table, mostly just as a way of kinda saying thanks and showing a modicum of respect and appreciation. That latter part on a national scale would serve all of us well at this time.

Currently at Sadelle's in Bellagio. Asked for a ressie for tomorrow morning. "We only do that on weekends." I mentioned 'no walk-ups', deer in headlights.

Did hear staff at Cal Sports Bar mention Aloha Specialities went to carry out only. This was yesterday.

Have ressie for Hugo's for Wednesday, going to call today to see if it's still good.

Could be 'first rodeo' for places that don't normally do them. Thinking Market Street Grill, Paradise Cafe, Magnolias, etc.

It will be interesting to see how restaurants "cut down" from 50% to 25%. Might I get "bumped", or do they expect that overall attendance will be down?

due to leave a week from today for sam's town for four nights; we were more than willing to eat all our meals in the room...relying on snack bar/fast food outlets (not that ST is a gourmet destination LOL) ...but now with 25% casino limit, wouldn't you have to wonder if expected fall off in business at say a McDonald's or Subway, would give them reason to shut down during this 'pause'?

One of the bartenders at my regular bar will be in Vegas this weekend with some friends and family. Was invited to join them. Not counting us they were a party of 8 so they'd already have issues with dining. So my wife and I booked a suite so everyone could have a hang out spot. They don't go we'll cancel. If they do still want to go, they'll need our room now more than ever.

I'm curious to see how the hotels will handle booking dining. Will resort guests get priority? Don't see it being an issue on most days as this time is dead normally. But Thanksgiving and some weekends are a different story. If it were me I'd do top tier players card guests first along with any guests in villas/specialty suites. AMEX Centurion guests, resort guests then everyone else.

Good point, Ty. But it's such a standard within the industry that you'd think someone has some experience. Now admittedly phasing is the trick.

Be safe, man. Enjoy your trip.

It’s also the first rodeo for Victory Burger and Saginaw’s Deli, which I will be visiting in two weeks.

An article I saw a few days ago said the tourism forecast appears steady. Some might cancel but who knows. The moment I saw the news I made some reservations for 2 weeks from now.

Well, one thing, car rental rates just went WAYYYYY down. Anyone renting a car for next weekend should check their reservations for possible bumps down.

In early November you pulled the mask up or down—-they didn’t care—and drank. Swallow and return mask to the original upright position. Was only reminded once, somewhere. This was downtown.
