    My Trip Report

Imma try this trip report thing. I can't promise anything earth shattering with this report. I can't promise excitement, or pleasant reading. I can't promise that I'll keep up, but damnit, I'll try.

My 21 year old son and I, along with a friend celebrating his 40th birthday and another friend were supposed to head out in late May, but you know. Didn't happen. So here we are months later.
We'll be at Palazzo for 2 nights after being offered a switch from Venetian and 1 night at the Cosmopolitan with a terrace fountain view.

We took United early this morning from Memphis through Houston and to Vegas with no problems, actually arriving a little early. Well, actually there was a problem. My son was to meet my friend and I at my house at 5 am to head to the airport together. I call at 5 and he's slept through his alarm... No big deal. Plane leaves at 6:50 so plenty of time. He gets there, we head out. On the interstate, my son opens the back door of the car and starts puking. Puking out of the car at 70 mph.. That's tough to do so I pull over to make it easier for him. He proceeds to get whatever that was out of his system and we continue. Halfway to the airport he asks me to call his phone. It's not in the car. He's left it in his at my house. It's too late to turn back so we just have to continue on. My wife agrees to overnight the phone so he'll just have to do without for about 36 hours.

We arrive with no issues, Uber to Palazzo and meet my buddy there (he and other friend are at Harrah's). We check in and get 42nd floor with a south strip view and late check out after friendly banter with the receptionist. Great room. I get the king bed, he gets the pull out couch. Everyone is happy, or at least I am.

We go down to gamble, I quickly lose $100 on a slot and I put $50 on the Lakers -7 for tonight (nuggets have to be exhausted, right?). Uber to Cosmo because I want the Pho'rench Dip at Lardo. My wife is Cambodian and makes some serious pho... This sandwich did not disappoint. Divine. We head down and play Fortune Cup for a bit, i lose $30 in about a 45 minute span. It was fun though. Put $100 into a Game of Thrones machine alternating between $3 and $5 a spin. Whittles down to around $30 before I get a decent bonus and I cash out at $110.

Head to Walgreens for a big can of Corona, drank half walking back to Palazzo before it got too warm to drink so I gave it to a homeless guy. Hit the Venetian Walgreen's for mountain Dew, Absolut Citron, solo cups and water. Yes, I enjoy a Mountain Dew Martini. Don't judge, it just hits the spot.

We are now chilling in the room. My son appears to be napping and I'm ready to gamble so I think I'm going to head down.

So here we are. I brought $5000 for whatever. No set dinner plans tonight. Dinner reservation at Delmonico tomorrow night. Hope to hit the pool in the morning. Wanted to bet college football but the slate is really boring. Will be NFL Sunday and play slots and maybe table games. We'll see. I'll see if I can get some pics as well.

Love this. May be on my list for the next trip.

So yeah. Couldn't keep up with the report. Home now so I guess it's recap mode.

I think I left off sometime Friday at Palazzo. I've never been a video poker player but I keep seeing pictures of all of you guys getting rich playing it so I thought, I wanna be rich. Hit my first of these ever followed by a couple more. [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Played some stadium blackjack until $100 was gone. Slotted around a bit losing another couple hundred. Realized we have eaten dinner so we hit Grand Lux and got myself a buffalo chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. It was delightful.

In the meantime, I really think my son's iPhone is a part of his lifeline. He was practically dead without it. He stayed in the room pretty much the entire night.

Saturday morning I wanted to check out the pool. Went down at about 10 and most of the chairs were claimed. Truly had to get there early to snag a spot. Didn't stay too long. Kind of boring for me at the pool solo.

One of the best discoveries I've made came via my son's satchel. I was still in my swimsuit going to the casino floor and I needed to carry my phone, wallet, cigarettes (only in Vegas) and a lighter. Only one pocket wasn't going to cut it so I turned the shoulder satchel into a fanny pack. I don't give a shit how it looked but the practicality can't be beat. Held EVERYTHING.

In the meantime my son's phone was overnighted, made it to Las Vegas, and showed out for delivery, then showed picked up. I asked the Palazzo desk twice if they had it but they didn't. Checked out his mom's iphone tracker and it showed still sitting in the post office by the airport. That was frustrating.

    A couple of pics.[IMG][IMG]

I did cash in on my Lakers bet from Friday, forgot about that.

Things are fuzzy but that day was when I hit the 3 4OAK. It's fun to hit them until you chase them and lose everything you won and then some. That's how they get you, or got me anyways. Whatever.

Dinner was at Delmonico. Very good. Enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine, a spinach salad, prime ribeye and a bunch of sides. My daughter enjoyed some kind of feminine cocktail. I watched the end of my Celtics cover and cashed a second winning sports bet.

Played more video poker after dinner before ultimately losing. Found a monopoly slot that got me back a decent chunk of my winnings. That felt nice. Realized I wasn't going to win anything else that night so I went to bed... Or at least I should have.

I wasn't tired so I strolled over to the Wynn, because as the name suggests, I would win. I am a Lord of the Rings geek so I couldn't think of any better way to spend the late night than winning money from a LOTR slot. In for $100...played for a bit, some fun bonuses before losing it. In for another 100, same result, and again, and again, and one more time. I've learned that chasing bonuses isn't a great strategy. Oh well, scared money makes no money. Back to the hotel and off to sleep.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Following! Trust me, chasing bonuses is the worst way to do about it. Just enjoy your bankroll and HOPE for the bonus!

Thanks for the TR. Not really a slot guy but as another LoTR geek I always play that game too.

I think we are all guilty of bonus chasing from time to time...or all the times .
