This is what some may not like, but because the crowds are much smaller, you see more of the homeless and drug addicts. Right in front of the majors on the strip. The CVS next to Bally’s/Paris looks terrible on the outside. Sidewalk looks terrible, the folks hanging around look worse.

I saw a guy preaching a sermon to a tree.

it’s not the nice looking cabaret girls, it’s the C and D team.

yes, it’s true, younger people have taken to scooter use on the sidewalks, can you blame them? Place is so much slower, a scooter is faster. Once it gets busy again, they’ll stop, because it’ll be too slow.

good analysis. hopefully society swallows this and moves on. and soon. for now cooties give cover to cost cutting or at best completely arbitrary illogic.

even with these negative reviews and reports we are plowing through this week for my 5-0. always said there is no place to be for that than vegas for me. even bizzaro twilight zone vegas. better than bizzaro twilight zone dallas.

Thank you @engicedave for the very informative and entertaining report, even though your experience wasn't the best.

What's unfortunate about some of what you experienced is that it was within CET's control. The no "room service" or "daily housekeeping" "because of Covid" is complete BS as a number of hotels in Vegas are providing both so I view that as a pure cost-cutting move by CET under the guise of "we had to do this" because of Covid.

I posted on a different thread but based on reports, I agree, with the strip much less crowded some of the not-great things VMBers may have not liked about Vegas before are now more noticeable. A few extra CET guards outside might give people more comfort, especially in more desolate spaces. This too is within CET's control.

Many thanks again for writing a great report!

I totally understand and I’m not really complaining, I expected most of it, all I am doing is being honest.

it’s not CETs fault, not at all. I am a CET loyalist, why I am talking about this area mid-strip.

Did visit Cosmo, middle of day it seemed good, busy....busier. There was a mix of plastic and no plastic table games....didn’t think to see if min bets were higher or lower based on level of protection.

Bellagio is Bellagio....most of the stores were open. Again, slower.

I haven’t seen any craps tables under $15 during weekend day.

when you’re out by the pool, even in a cabana tent with a fan and all, your phone and iPad can still get stupid hot.

The ramen shop is called Ramen-Ya, in the Bally’s shops, on the Flamingo side, in back. Got spicy miso w fried chicken, and carried back to room. It traveled well and was tasty. Solid broth.

Went to Smashburger at CP, and hey, it’s a burger, but the rosemary olive oil tots are awesome.

I have noticed more of the better restaurants are selling out, that’s because of lesser tables....the 6’ rule and bar stuff. Make any reservations before arriving to town.

Time to put iPad back in fridge for a few minutes....

I hope you're not actually doing this, a sudden change in temperature can damage it. Think possible formation of condensation on the inside, and what that might amount to.

Fingers crossed you didn't actually do it, looking forward to tonight's updates!

That electric feel just isn’t there, gang.

What you do feel is a feeling of caution and question....keep away from everybody! And everybody keep away from me.

It’s not as noisy, less crazy yelling or the rookies freaking out because they got a cherry on a .25 single wager relic in the back.

Seems to be less cross talk between strangers. Everyone is kind of working within their bubble while trying to avoid your bubble or the dealer’s bubble...hope that makes sense.

I don’t think there’s too many rookie first time to LV people....just looks like people who know their way around town

You know what it feels like?

It feels kind of like if you were on a big giant Royal Caribbean cruise ship....now you know it’s going to be different than normal, but you want to see for yourself.

Your cabin is nice. Nice high, mid ship, Extended balcony

But there’s no cabin steward. No room service. None of the bars on the ship are open, but you can get booze in a restaurant or casino. Only 75% of the restaurants are open, and their capacity has been cut in half to keep social distancing. Pools are open, but only half the chairs. No more all you can eat, it’s all proportioned out. There’s half the employees, so everything is slow, but make sure you tip well!

(I’m not complaining about tipping, I always tip and I always tip well....just making a point)

There are no shows, not even the cheesy guys in the piano bar.

would I come back and re-do this again? No, I think I’d need to wait for some sort of return to normal, post Covid.

After visiting in Atlantic City (9 casinos) I came away with the same feelings...and canceled my planned trip to LV. I got the same loss of that electric fantasy world feel and felt like everyone was in their own bubble while trying to avoid your/dealer's bubble. Too many of the amenities, that I expect to enjoy a vacation, being cut.

I do disagree with CET's handling of the situation and I am a CET loyalist, too. They are doing a horrible job of it. In AC, Caesars/Bally's and Harrah's are much less of a holiday experience than other higher tier properties. In LV, from what I've read, it is the same. Ven and Wynn seem to be doing a decent job with the lemons they're dealing with.

All in all, though, loved the report and reassuring to see others are getting the same reaction as I did to the new casino/resort atmosphere.

Thanks for sharing. This is how I would expect it to be and good (or bad) to know that someone who was actually there confirm it. I am missing Vegas but I want to go back when it is as close to how it used to be. I know it will probably be a long time before we get there or perhaps not even get the same Vegas anymore. I tentatively have an October trip booked but will most likely cancel - I don't want to have an underwhelming Vegas trip that would make me think twice about going back to Vegas again in the future.

Nice report! It's unfortunate that CET has cut a lot of things back, but obviously a rough time for them too with it being so dead.

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

I love Vegas just like everyone else on here but have no desire at all to go any time soon. Everything you described is exactly why.

If you want a room upgrade or the likelihood of your $20 Trick to work, Now’s a good time to come to LAS.

If you’re not the kind of person who likes going to show, you hate crowds, not a drinker, or not a power drinker, and can schedule out your meal plans and make reservations in advance, Vegas right now is for you.

Sleep, eat, play, eat, play, eat, sleep.

    or sleep in sun

This describes me, from the moment I get up to the moment I sleep im drinking andv gambling. Was drink service ok anyplace? Im thinking although they aren't my favorite places to play the craps tables at bird bar or osheas or harrahs next ti the bars ive always gotten regular service at. Any chance that's still the case?

Im trying ti plan out my coming trip currently staying DT as ive heard better service there but the lack of games at all makes me nervous. So reconsidering to stay on strip.

I know I would certainly rather have someone's honest impressions and opinions than a fiction.
