Oh for crying out loud! Alright, y'all prayin' types, pray for my transportation. I'm in bed trying to fall asleep because boarding is 7 hours away or less, and I got startled by notifications from text, email, and American Airlines app, all informing me my flight out of Tallahassee is delayed. Fortunately only an alleged 15 minutes right now, and I had almost 2 hours in Dallas. Now I have exactly 90 minutes, which is still fine, just sketch that 8 hours from departure we already have a delay. Hopefully that's just a traffic planning thing but arrrrrgh!!!!!

I'm awake, yay, but boo, but yay! My last text from AA was at 4AM reminding me my flight leaves at 08:16 now. Thanks (guess that makes perfect sense in larger cities where I'd need to be up by 04:00 to get to an airport and through security). Time for a shower, a red bull, and a drive!

 

It seems relevant these days to truly say “safe travels.”

I’m not too concerned about being in a big casino where I can avoid people, if I were to cancel my upcoming trip it would be fear of airplane travel, Drink your mimosa then hold your breath

True, but as I mentioned before, this is my 6th airfare itinerary for this trip, so it's already gone south on me 5 times, and Ik trying to go west. Still a valid point though sir.

I'm checked in at the airport now, got my own personal TSA crew and they were extra vigilant this time with nothing else to do, but they let me in. Supposed to board in a few minutes. I was worried airport might be crowded, for here, with a holiday weekend and only a couple flights going out today. Nope. Didnt see another passenger at checkin or security, not until I got to the gate area.

 

Well we were supposed to begin boarding 16 minutes ago. The pilot, copilot, and head FA just now moseyed in. Should still be fine. Ready to get on the plane and nap!

 

Well once the crew got here they wasted no time. I'm on a plane!

Beer virus report - they did not board back to front, but I went ahead and got in the back of the line anyway. I love the E175 from here to Dallas, especially now, when travelling solo because it has a row of single seats on one side of first class. That's great because I've already heard 2 other people in first class coughing. What are you motherf^##rs even doing on a plane?!?!?

PS - the mask thing already sucks a little discomfort wise but it's the cost of doing business in these times and looking out for my fellow humans. I am prepared with my Beau rivage mask and a pack of surgical masks on my carry-on. This cloth one is the most comfortable on the ears but making my face sweat.

AND fuck yah! Just took my mimosa order and assured me it will be delivered once we're airborne! Woohoo! Ok, flight mode time! See y'all in Dallas in a couple hours!

 

I must say, I'm impressed with your flight attire. I go comfort for the flight so I look like a bag of dicks compared to you

 

@MCann and @luck.ofthe.draw are two VMBers who are welcoming of weird rambling trip reports and other remarks on this site, and so I wish both of them an especially happy and prosperous trip!

I'm always amazed when I see people in full suits on planes. I'm hot in a short-sleeve t-shirt or polo shirt and shorts; I might pass out in a monkey suit.

I'm in Dallas. As much as I piss and moan about AA, one thing that has always been good to me is the service in the shirt hops between Tallahassee and hubs, especially the Dallas route, which is technically Envoy Airlines operating as American Eagle. Had that mimosa about 30 seconds after the ding dong from the pilots. It was very frothy, and a little on the warm size, but also awesome and didnt skimp on the liquor. Was offered drinks at least 3 more times in the last 2 hours.
