I just posted this in the sticky about the Governor's guidelines for opening but I wanted to make sure nobody missed it.

The Gaming Control Board has changed the wording in their guidelines to make masks required at table games where there is not a plexiglas shield.

Licensees must require patrons to wear face coverings at table and card games if there is no barrier, partition, or shield between the dealer and each player. This requirement applies to table and card game players, spectators, and any other person within 6 feet of any table or card game.

"casinos must provide training for employees on how to use and dispose of it."
Very important as many people get confused about the difference between a mask and a chin guard:)

The industry notice mentions ‘face coverings’ as opposed to ‘masks.’ Does anyone have a link to a document wherein these words are actually defined?

I don't know what the industry notice is. But the GCB notice requires the casinos to provide mask or cloth face coverings. It also states that face coverings are required at table games without plexiglass (I am paraphrasing). The notice doesn't define face coverings. Nor does the governor's emergency directive #21. The language of the order, though, references guidance form the CDC. So the answer most likely is however the CDC defines a face covering. But frankly, I doubt there is a specific definition because a face covering is kind of self-evident

I'm assuming they mean cloth masks, surgical/disposable masks, plastic face shields (because we can see casino employees wearing them), even a scarf, or those neck gaiters. I cant find any specific definition in the document though.

I know some people don't want to wear a mask. They are still not required at the table games with the plexiglas barrier. You still have a choice here. (Although getting on a plane will be a problem).

It's all to keep the casinos open. If people are getting sick in the casinos, there will be further restrictions and possibly another shut down. The casinos want to expand occupancy and venues, but can't if the GCB says no. And they are watching those infection rates.

Thank you again Sonya for this info. I was wondering why it wasnt required when i saw that video w.many people at Cosmo and i think 2 in the entire video wore masks. It's good that the casino industry is requiring this now. I know some won't want to go but it's for everyone's safety. This virus is really serious and it's better to be safe than sorry. And, i agree that its better to wear masks than another shut down. Masks are pretty much a requirement everywhere here in Chicago and its helping our state keep the #s down.

As bad as I am going bat-shit crazy sheltering at home, it just seems to be the best option.

We're retired, have disposable income and are supposed to be traveling in our "twilight" years. We haven't been anywhere since last Thanksgiving. In 6 months I have put 65 miles on my car.

Might possibly be the new norm for a time. Part of the many reasons I go to Vegas is to see people smile. Having a good time.

Maybe we can still see a smile in their eyes.

Most of the places requiring masks are making some health exceptions, but you might need to provide some documentation. I've seen mixed information on that from the airlines.

As far as the casinos, there is no eating at the tables. And at CET, they have been asking you to step away from the table to smoke, as you need to remove your mask. They still serve drinks and you can remove/move your mask to drink, and then put it right back on.
