first time I ever got this message.

I was locked in for one price at Flamingo, I wanted to stay at Flamingo a few days and maybe switch to another CET property, well I cancelled my res to book the other hotel and normal CET website issues, it wouldnt go through after many tries, I decided to call and withing business hours, they were closed. so I said, Screw it, re-booked flamingo the whole trip but the price went up. no problem

looking today, the price dropped about $40, I cancelled the room and when I went to re-book, this is what I got, the new price almost tripled

I was about to call them but I waited a few minutes, refreshed and tried again and it went through for the lower rate...be careful

I alway rebook before I cancel. That way if anything goes bad I still have the original reservation.

It has never let me do that, when you try it gives a msg that you cant because you already have a reservation for those dates

MLife online reservations system will let you carry multiple reservations on same/overlapping dates. CET won't.

Yea... though I do just about everything online - calling in to make a change might be a better idea.

I've seen lots of buggy and otherwise annoying behavior in the desktop version of the CET booking engine since they revamped it. Seems like the longer your session and the more flipping around you do (ie switching selections for hotels, dates or offers), the more likely you are to run across a problem.

Several times had to log out and close the browser session to clear cookies and go back in, usually clears it up at least initially.

for rebookings, or modifications to an existing reservation with modifications using the same dates I call 800-4-REWARDS and let them take care of everything and never had a problem being taken care of with comp rooms or the low rate I was trying to get.

Different dates, I just book before I cancel.

Ok, I'm going to argue here, as a web application engineer myself, that you had session issues in your browser. This is the expected behavior if you already have an active reservation and are trying to book a paid stay logged in to your account. It *is* strange wording but if this was a policy thing, it wouldnt have worked when you tried again. I have had a lot of trouble getting any reservation to go through on their site for the last.... well this calendar year. But when I cancel and rebook I use two different browser windows, using the "new session" option, and have the new booking open to the book now page, then go to the other session and cancel the old reservation, switch back and complete the checkout. Other than the frequent bugs and "technical issues" with their reservations site in general, I've never had an issue doing it that way. This could be something else, but is an expected result if you used a single window or two windows sharing a session and or cookies.

That is only possible with CET if you are paying public rates. You cant have 2 comp reservations or casino rate within 72 hours of each other by policy (hosts can do it but the web site is not supposed to)

Similarly, I'll use my tablet to recheck rates. If I decide to re-book: I'll go as far as selecting the room category on the tablet; sign in Caesars rewards on my computer and cancel existing reservation; then complete new booking on tablet.

I do it with two windows open, I cancel the reservation on one window, wait for it to send me a confirmation email then I click the 1 step booking on the other window...it has had issues where it wouldnt book ballys or flamingo in November, Id try Harrahs and then it would book it, cancel that and try ballys and flamingo again and it wouldnt book...it has been acting up for weeks that ive noticed...september I just called them and they got it fixed for me

Before cancelling and rebooking to get a better deal, I will first try to change my current reservation. That sometimes works.
