Looking to book 10/14-10/18. Looking through my mlife offers, the rates are relatively good every week except for the one I'm looking at. Anyone know what's going on this week that is driving the rates up?

    Thanks,

Rates are UP every date, as they are milking everyone for lost revenue.

Look, I don't know if there's a correlation but those are the exact dates I went 5 years ago this coming October and the day I got back home, I met my (now) wife. As far as I'm concerned, those are lucky dates to go to Vegas! Lol.

Kidding aside, @MGinCO may be right or perhaps there's a convention of some sort booked (I'm not sure, just speculating). Frankly, the longer out you look the higher rates are even if nothing is happening (this isn't too dissimilar to flights as well, speaking anecdotally). To put it into context, I have a flight booked for end of August, but I won't be getting my rooms until later in July. If you have extended action with a casino chain, I've also found the offers can be better the closer you get to "decision day" if the demand is low enough as well.

On my calendar, they are not up on every date. My calendar shows some low rates the weeks before and the week after on various mlife properties. Just something happening on that particular week I'm guessing.

For example, most weeks in Sep/Oct are ok, then the middle of Oct (10/11-10/18) shoots up, then drops back down after

I have had this type of thing happen when I have already booked a comp offer at another MLife hotel for the same dates and then login again to check offers at other MLife properties.

That is interesting. I am not booked at another Mlife property, but I am booked at PH for a couple of those nights (booked for a friend). Wonder if the two entities somehow have access to each others data?...I would think not...

Maybe Las Rageous? The D blocked out comped rooms that weekend last year, which was the first time I heard of the festival.

There used to be a few large events in October, including the one for the slot companies. Maybe they haven't cancelled the conventions yet, so the hotels are hoping to cash in on the extra attendees.

    just a thought, probably wrong.

Scheduled home Raiders games will start have a factor too when football returns.

My birthday is 10/14. Although it sometimes coincides with the Columbus Day 3 day weekend, it's always expensive. I am not sure why, but I've never found a bargain price for that week in Vegas.

Canadian Thanksgiving I believe is 2nd Monday in October??? If they are hoping travel will be allowed fully for Canadians they might be padding the rates a bit for that also?

October is peak season, when the weather is perfect.

I am not seeing an issue with that week. I've got full comps on the CET calendar for most properties (we are there Oct 14-19, having a drink for Sonya on the 14th). I also have those same days comped at the California.

We did check around for our daughter who is coming with us to make her first trip. We found Sahara for $99/night Oct 14-15 (with no resort fee) and South Point for $99/$99/$69 for the other three days.
