    I have been reading the forum for a while....now decided to contribute a little... not a big gambler, but enjoy going to Vegas and once in a while to MGM Detroit (only 30 minutes drive)

    I was planning to go 2-3 times this year but now I may have to re-think that...... hopefully when things get back to 'as close as possible to normal' I am definitely going to make up for these lost trips.....

    Welcome to the board BR2MI. I am from MI as well but now live in OH due to my job. You can take the boy out of MI but you can't take MI out of the boy! I will always consider MI my home state.

    Welcome, another Michigander here, from Clarkston, have my trip planned for Sept. 22. I also go to the casinos here occasionally, but I’m proud to say I’m a Vegas snob. It’s just not the same here lol! I get so much helpful info on this board. I really enjoy it.

    Hey @BR2MI welcome to VMB!! I am too from Michigan as well....and yes I do goto Detroit casinos, I only stick with mgm. We just can’t wait till things go back to normal; Michigan stay home orders are driving me insane lol.

    btw, @hockeymom lol I didn’t know you are from Michigan :) in hindsight should have figured it out with name “hockey mom” I believe Michiganders are only ones uses term “hockey town” “hockey dad” etc (Go Wings!) those who may it know what I’m talking about..Detroit Redwings!!

    @hockeymom, @Drewm1972
    yeah, detroit is definitely not the same feeling as LV...... but for a get away every other Saturday night is fine....we like the band at MGM on Saturday nights
    especially during winter, I need to go there to keep my sanity during the snow period (which you know could be very very long)...have some drinks, walk around and it's fun

    yeah I agree with you @BR2MI how do you think its gonna be once Mgm gets ok to open? I don't even know if I will be ready to go I be nervous. Mayor of Detroit stated that in order to casinos go back way use to be it will take like year if not more.... I believe he may be right

    The last time I went to MGM Detroit was 02/22.... I was fine until I saw some people using masks.... seeing that somehow made me uncomfortable, like the virus was there or maybe there could be sick people around.... I don't know, it's was a strange feeling and we left after 20-30 minutes

    It's been 3 months since that and we have much more information about everything, nevertheless I wouldn't feel comfortable to go back the way it was...... Maybe 20-30% occupancy and a lot of space btw tables, slots I would feel better.... even so i used to go there to have fun, if I go to be worried I rather stay at home

    What will happen in LV will be a valuable information on how they may move forward here in Detroit...... let's see how it goes and hope for the best

    For now we can enjoy MI 'summer' up north or on a metropark :)
