I'm a big Def Leppard fan, but "Pour some sugar on me' is the worst thing they ever recorded imo. I cant stand it. And everything they did after Steve Clark died is just as bad.

I just used Billy Joel as an example but you could swing a dead cat and hit another person who sounds better than Springsteen.

It really pales in comparison to their more impressive earlier work. It all went downhill after Pyromania. That was not uncommon in that time period. Aerosmith started heading in that same path in the mid 80's.

Barking dogs Jingle Bells! It was cute maybe the first 2-3 times they played it, but after the 100th millionth time it starts to get old. (Yes, I know, that's not a mega-artist, however (comma)) ...

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town by Springsteen. Overplayed to the max! Yeah, that's another Springsteen tune that doesn't work.

I will never listen to the entirety of Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime" again, as long as I draw a breath!
Well. there is Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas"

The problem with the holiday tunes is that they are played over and over and over and over and over and over ad nauseam each season!

"My Love" by Wings might be the worst excuse for a song by any major artist period. I love the Beatles and Wings but some of Wings was truly cringeworthy. Anytime that many "Whoas" are in a song lyric you just gotta go back and write the damned thing again. "Whoa, whoa whoa, whoa.........whoa, whoa whoa, whoa........" Nobody had the heart to tell Sir Paul, "Hey buddy......that's just...........in need of some serious reworking...."

Starship got mentioned upthread, but they were NEVER any good, although I would not say the same for their Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship predecessors - save for Miracles, which should have been shelved at it's inception.

Dave Matthews Band, "Crash". "Won't you hike up your skirt a little more......." As Bill Walton might say, "just hohhhhhhrrrrrrible......"

80% of Phish's album output over the last decade, which is chocked full of sobriety gospel and "love and light" sort of missives, if you're into that sort of thing. The previous 25 years of their catalogue was the basis for one of the best live juggernauts in existence, though.......

Almost ALL of the "holiday special" recordings are bad. They all think they are wannabe Bing Crosbys and they all pretty much suque at it. Mannheim Steamroller was interesting for a season or two but after it got drilled-into-head the subsequent five I really got tired of it.

I would argue that whole album is just so over produced (thanks Mutt Lange) it is hard to enjoy anything off it. I loved Pyromania by Hysteria just doesn't do anything for me.

It's also not a great time to be Jewish. I'm not like a War on Christmas guy or something, but the holiday song onslaught does not typically touch on our perspective.

We do have Adam Sandler. :) :) :)

And yes, I've heard it in rotation on some casino sound systems. Don't remember or not if it's the version that tells you to do the evil weed or not do it. :) :)

I wouldn't say that necessarily... Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond (among others) are Jews that released multiple Christmas albums...

MANY of the long-lived "Christmas" tunes were written by Jewish composers. Too many to list!
