My husband and I moved to Vegas last year. Yesterday we went for a walk on the Strip. We parked at the Welcome To Vegas sign and walked down to Treasure Island and back. We started out just as the sun was setting around 7 and got back to the car after 10.

The emptiness of the Strip was magnified by the fact that it should have been NFL draft weekend here and the Strip would have been a madhouse.

It was actually quite a nice walk, with time to enjoy the sights with no distraction. We took a lot of pics. I’m not saying we were alone out there though. There were more than a few out walking like us. Also people on bicycles. Younger people (high school or college age) with all manner of skateboards and scooters. Most of these people were in groups and wore no masks. A fair number of cars driving up and down the Strip and a couple motorcycle groups.

The Vegas sign parking lot was full when we arrived and almost as full when we left. Still people posing for pictures there, including one in her graduation cap and gown shaking up a bottle of champagne for the camera.

Not trying to make or invite any judgements here, just sharing first hand observations for those who might be curious.

Yeah can you please, uh, show ALL of the photos? I'm on the other side of the country and for the first time in ages it really feels like I'm on the other side of the world.

Did you notice new palm trees there? Looked like they were putting in two big ones near the sign a week or two ago.

Yeah, and no way VMBers aren't going to pester you to post your photos. We're all hungry for new Vegas photos. :)

I'm not the original poster, but there are a bunch of pictures on this Twitter feed: https://twitter.com/VegasLifeBaby

I took some photos during a drive down the Strip with a friend of mine, but it was from a moving car and didn't turn out great. The oddest thing to me is how Metro has cruisers parked outside every property (other than CityCenter, due to it being partially residential). I'm not sure what they're there for, as the casinos all still have security around.

My daughter lives in Vegas and I keep saying she should walk the strip as youl’ll never see it empty like this again, but she won’t do it. I think it’d look pretty cool, if not a little eerie!

No escalators were working. We saw people hauling their bicycles up and down the stairs (the street wasn’t really safe to bike on even now). There were workers cleaning the stairways and overpasses.
