We've always used the Boyd/Stations BOGO buffet coupons and paid the rest with points. That's a big let down that we can't do that anymore.

Yes, that's a drawback if you have the points to pay with. I may be wrong but I think the cash vs points started a few years ago on the coups. I did the same. I used the coup then points. When CET had a few buffets discounted on LVA, I used the coup and used points but now it states cash paying. It's not beneficial for the players with points but there are enough other ways to use the points. Actually, I don't know why points can't used? It's used for paying for room, drinks, non-coupon food but as most coups or perks say, not to be combined with additional promos etc. But, without bumping the posted thread, my question is can you just charge it to the room for the cash end and then pay with points when checking out? That can only happen if you're are staying at one of their properties to charge it to the room. By not allowing points to be used, casinos actually have new cash versus points. The points vs cash really doesn't matter to most, but how many people just get tired of going to Vegas and never use most of their points. A lot. That's a lot of points or should I say cash for the casino's to confiscate or should I say expire.

Recently, if anyone has had different results, please let Linda P & everyone else know. Some may have gotten lucky and got away with points, but is this perk buried in concrete or does it depend on who the cashier is?

If you are on a Boyds offer with food credit tied to your room, you can probably "charge to your room" and expect it to be handled like cash for BOGO purposes -- yet not actually having to pay money on checkout.

I used the Gold Coast buffet coupon last week and paid the balance with points. YMMV.
