    Hello,

just wanted to see where everyone’s favorite casino to play craps on the strip and downtown and the reasons as well.

not really concerned about the odds, more about atmosphere, drink service, fun or dealers.

for myself i like to play at the cromwell, bcuz of the dealers and overall atmosphere. Havent played craps downtown yet though. Im a low roller.

Anywhere downtown for me, though I like the evening crew at Golden Gate best.

I'm a nickel player, so my strip play in recent years has been...sparse. Last time was a mid-morning session at Harrah's a few years ago. Crew was fine, I guess, outside of some eye rolling at my single odds. Didn't matter to me, but I think it bothers some.

    Downtown, I prefer:

    1. Golden Gate - very good dealers and low minimums.
    2. Four Queens - Smaller table with less bounce seems to suit my shooting. I just feel at home here.
    3. The D/Plaza - They both have good games but sometimes the minumums creep up at odd times. The noise at the D is sometimes a pain if i am off a night of festivities.

I used to play at MSS but not since they screwed with the Bconned nonsense. It is too bad because I had some great sessions there.

Fremont and the Cal are no longer on my list because of 2x odds.

El Cortez is a great place to learn to play. I don't mind beginner crews and new players but I think you might get tired of newbies who constantly reach in when the dice are in the air and other common problems. Like the MSS, when the offers dried up, I moved on to greener pastures.

Golden Nugget? Never a fan. Maybe it is just timing, but always seems the players and the CW's are unfriendly and stuffy.

Binion's.... it is fun when I play there sometimes, but the craps tables are tucked away in an odd location.

Thanks so much for the responses. I plan to finally play some Craps Downtown on my next trip. Thinking of trying at the Downtown Grand, the D, and four queens.

The cromwell is great but sometimes the minimums are a little high. Same goes for the strip. Never had much luck at ballys and its not much fun at their craps tables. Paris was decent on the fun level, and i also will sometimes venture to play some bubble. Finally bought the American Casino Guide and plan doing the $50 Southwest match play at The D as well.

I very rarely do up to about 5 times odds but normally do between 2 and 3 times odds.

cant wait to try the craps tables downtown especially from everything ive read on this board.

I love playing craps at Aria. Cromwell is a close second.

My daughter is coming with me for New years and is new to playing craps. Are there any 5.00 tables on the strip near Cosmo or Palazzo? She told me that she didn't mind playing earlier in the day if she has to.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you are looking for $5 tables on the strip, your best chance would be earlier in the day and midweek. Casino royale is fairly close to palazzo, but from what ive read excalibur and luxor have $5 tables as well.

I am going to have give Aria a try i have a read a lot of things. Just hoping their minimums arent too high. I usually like to stick at $15 minimum or below if possible.

Thank you so much for the info. She can easily walk next door to Casino Royal without having to Uber downtown.

I'd mostly agree with this, except I don't like the D tables, they seem $10 min, hectic, and loud to me.
I would say give MSS a chance for the good prime time dealers and 20x odds, def. better than the Cals 2x and salty pit.
Had a first bad experience there (MSS) last trip, but it surely was due to a table max bettor next to me winning a bit too much.
I had a good time at freemont last trip, good dealers, and the roll counter is a novelty.
(You can get a hat or something for 27 rolls, a jacket for some riduculous 50ish #,)
.. didn't hurt that a lot of the table made >20 rolls.

MSS was my go to, but after the last trip, I'm going to spread to South point and 4q probably.

Did a weekend on the strip at Cosmo, and couldn't find a <$15/10 table anywhere in the vicinity. YMMV but I play nights.

a lot of the times, it comes down to the dealers, Cosmo and the one run I had at DTG both had very good dealers.

(Binions has orange dice on red felt- it is very ugly- dealers were alright)

If you want $5 mins, I doubt you could find it on the strip, and you likely would find many choices downtown. New years?, you might be lucky to slot in for $10 min at golden gate.

I have had my best runs on Aria tables with $25 minimums. I think psychologically that the losing sessions on those end very quickly with a $300-$400 buy in so I tend to not think about them happening as much as losing the same, less quickly, on $10 and $15 tables. Anyway, when you get a good run on a $25 table and are at least a little aggressive, the chip stack can expand rapidly. Then the chore becomes to limit the amount you give back. Once it is in your chip rack or placed on a non-contract bet of any type, it is your money. Long way of saying that I enjoy playing at the Aria.

The Luxor crews learned my name and ran a good game when we were there.

My favorite place to play downtown is Golden Gate, but it doesn't like me back very often. I enjoy the atmosphere and the crews. I do better at the Plaza, but it is meh for me. The D has had better returns for me, but I can't hear a damn thing in there. I recently had a VA claim denied for bad hearing because they said it was as likely as not that it was not service-related...I think they got video of me playing at The D and feel that might be part of the problem...

I enjoy the surly dealers at Casino Royale for some low rolling; I am just as surly as they are when I want to be, but that is not everyone's cup of tea.

Wherever you decide to go, have a great time! There are some knuckleheads who come in with a bad attitude and curse people when rolls go bad. I don't think they even know how to have fun. RUN when you see them. They will steal your joy!

I haven't stayed at any of them in a couple of years, but I liked CP, Aria, and MB. I liked Palazzo too, but had a couple of really bad calls by the box there.

I don't love craps at Cosmo or MGM Grand, there's too much traffic near the tables.

Luxor was OK for a $5 min during the day. I don't play higher than a $10 min table. When I was staying at CP, Aria, and MB, they'd always have a $10 table during the day. I don't care much about playing at night, the yelling gets way out of proportion to the size of the wins.

The crew at MGM Grand is usually pretty good. I used to play there mostly because of this although they have had some turnover recently.

I do have to agree with @Chuck2009x that the craps tables at MGM Grand are right on the main walkway and so you get a lot of traffic.

i second the Aria tables during the day.

I had my best rolls at Binions
MSS was good as well but a bald headed dick of a box man ruined my experience there
    El Cortez had good tables

I concur with the Golden Gate - it's our go-to spot anytime we are downtown.

On the strip, my buddies and I are $5 players (not that I won't end up with $200 on the table with presses, etc) and now we'll just grab a Bubble Craps table if they are open, since you can play whatever you want there without having to deal with $10-25 tables.

In general, it has been Aria, but on my last trip I only did one session there. The rest were all at ParkMGM. The casino has really picked up, and the dealers were all really friendly.

You shouldn't have any trouble finding $10-$15 tables at Aria, except on crazy weekends like Superbowl/NYE, etc.

    Downtown:
#1. Golden Gate - Great the pit crew, low minimum, and good drink service.
#2. The D - I absolutely love the atmosphere. Super rowdy and loud on winning rolls, and drink service is good.
#3 El Cortez - Little bit of a slower game with rookie pit crews, but low minimums and good people watching. Drink service can be really good or really bad.

    The Strip:
#1. The Paris - I have played $10 minimums in the evening and the tables are located in proximity to Le Cabaret. Love playing craps while listening to the bands playing there. Also good drink service.
#2 The Cosmo - They had a $10 minimum game going at approximately 9am midweek. Played by myself for a bit, which was nice because I played the Dark Side and won a decent amount.
