Damn @Ty, we were there the same time you were. We probably were sitting at the bar at the same time. Glad you had a good trip and thanks for the TR.

Time travel is real, and it's spectacular.

There is the legendary story about the Spirits getting ready to depart on a flight that left Louisville, Ky., at 8 p.m. and would get into St. Louis at 7:56 p.m. due to a time-zone change. Upon looking at the schedule, Barnes said, “I ain’t getting on no time machine,” and rented a car for the trip.

This stay was great. Most of my visits to MSS are great. But I believe it helps that I've stayed there over a dozen times (that's trips, not nights) and I know what to expect. I know it's an older property and not new/fancy. I feel it's clean and functional. The staff is friendly, it's easy to get around, and close to Fremont Street. The rooms and food are very affordable.

@oldbrewzer I believe you like The D, yes? Have you stayed at MSS?

It's crazy how that works out. I spent a lot of time at the bar.

Tomorrow I plan to add up all scratch cards and post a total. It would be great to take this trip's data to start an ongoing spreadsheet for the pay-outs on the scratch cards. With input from other players too.

I expect to see a downward trend. I could see Boyd/MSS keeping the payout near what it's been for a while then start throwing in more $1 cards. We have enough MSS VP players on the board to figure out what's happening. Some of us likely have notes and trip reports going back several years we could pull data from.

Do we count the ones that ended up on the refrigerator due to spending too much time at the bar??

    One was an oversight.
The other 4 we have were mostly a result of being overserved.....and gladly tipped for such rude behavior.

I asked one of the slot attendants why they were handing out more $1 cards. They were told that it is because there are more $3 cards in circulation now.

They say there were 1.2 million at that game. I listened on radio but it certainly sounded at least like over 800K!! :poke:

We have been tracking scratch-offs since January 2015. From 2015 - 2018 we received 2,386 scratch cards totaling $4943.00($2.072 per card). This year through October we got 786 scratch cards totaling $1610.00($2.048 per card). So a slight drop per card probably based on a reduction on $3 and $5 cards being issued. These totals are all before the $1 cards started to appear. The total from 2015 to current would be 3172 scratch cards for $6553.00 for an average of $2.066 per card. Probably a large enough sample to use as a starting point moving forward.

Wow. Congrats on such detailed record keeping. I’m afraid of such as when THE man comes and takes all my stuff, I don’t want him looking for the extra 2468 $ from scratch-offs I have in the bottom of the sock drawer—-wrapped in the argyles.

Sorry, this might be a dumb question, but how do you get the scratch off tickets? I know you get them for a FOK but do you have to tell a slot attendant before you play your next hand or does the machine kick them out? Again, sorry if this is a dumb question but I have never played at MSS.

Push service button and wait for the attendant to give you the ticket. Wait and don’t play another hand.

FOAK and better gets the scratch card. Rules says FOAK but the pay for they better hands too.
This, and remember it might take a few minutes to get to you.

I keep an extra players card handy so I don't have to keep taking the one from the machine.

I really need to make myself a placard that says "Don't forget the scratch card!"

Too many times to count, I've gotten a 4OAK only to play another hand before realizing I'm playing at MSS......:faint:
