Hubby is so difficult to cook for. No casseroles in this house.
NO Cheese, Pasta, Oysters, Corned Beef, Onions. Well, ALL vegetables except corn, raw carrots, and tomatoes. Cook those carrots or tomatoes and no go. He does not like organ meat as well. :)

My BFF asked me to put "Bok jeet gai" for him (Cantonese Poached Chicken w/ Ginger Scallion Oil)

I think that it's because this is a dish typically served at Chinese funeral dinners (something bland and tasteless)

I did remember one food that's not ever gonna be in my diet again. Natto. Fermented soy, tastes like Swiss cheese stored in a warm dirty sock for a year.

What, no rice beetles? I used to watch the Vietnamese Army dudes grab them right out of the air, bite the heads off and suck the insides out.

They would also bayonet a rat, no shotgun because too many of the shot would get into the meat, and grill them right in their bunkers. They would say "You like?" and offer you a slice. I would politely say "No thank you" in Vietnamese, which I have long since forgotten.

My husband will pretty much eat anything you put in front of him unless it’s an orange veggie, no carrots or sweet potatoes. He really likes things that I call “pieces....parts”, tripe, liver, gizzards....

Of course that means I don’t eat “pieces....parts”
Scallops, pears, salmon and tuna.....it’s a texture thing
Tomatoes are fine in things like ketchup, salsa and spaghetti sauce, but don’t put one on my salad or burger or “blistered” on my breakfast plate at Mon Ami Gabi!
Wild game, if it doesn’t come covered in plastic from HEB, nope..not eating it (of course pieces...parts come covered in plastic at HEB but we’ve already addressed those
    Kale, beets and asparagus

    Happy birthday to me!

So many liver haters on here! I'll eat liver any day (especially fried chicken livers and gizzards), but I REFUSE to eat Nutella. I don't know why, but it looks disgusting to me and I imagine the texture would make me gag.

I'd like to go on the record that I love tripe stew. Even though it has the texture of rubber bands in tomato sauce.

Actually lots of people in Hawaii love tripe stew. But you gotta know how to make it. There are certain places where it always sells out and you gotta go early if you want to buy some.

When in Vegas I'll go to Aloha Specialties on the mezzanine between the Cal and MSS and order a take out meal of tripe stew. Then I take it up to my room and enjoy. Yum!

This falls on my "once had to eat due to lack of food, now a delicacy" list. I've read about this. This trumps anything on my "avoid" list.
