No, the number is the same. The card is just cosmetic.

I've heard they will eventually phase out the old cards, but they still work fine for me.

If you care about keeping the old card (I collect them) don't use the old card-just get a new one. Not sure if this will happen, but in Atlantic City when giving my card to get comped parking, I gave in the old card and guy had to take and keep it

At check in they should not even need your TR card. just ID and credit card.

Ngrund is correct no card needed to check it at Planet Hollywood. ID and CC is all they need. If you want to keep your old TR branded card be careful because the will swap it out for the new CR card if they see it.

If you go around Chinese New Year, they have one each year, they also have one (for now) at Rio for the WSOP when it is going on and they also had one for the Super Bowl, one of my favorites is the one they issued a few years @ Flamingo for the Margaritaville Casino

Old cards will continue to work in machines, but it's a good idea to get one with an updated expiration date in case someone's doing a tier match, or if you're using tier status for a perk.

The old ones looks so much cooler. I'm keeping my old style platinum, the sad thing is I'm now Diamond but it happened after the change, so I'll never have an old style Diamond card to keep :(

BTW, the Seven Stars cards were better prior to the las change too. I never could understand why they don't put seven stars on the card or a Diamond the the Diamond card, etc. Make the cards look like what they are called.

BTW, AC just started to issue actual 7* cards to 7* players. Prior to that they issued Diamond cards to 7* players in AC. I was told that they do that because they don't want people to see who the higher players were because they were concerned they'd be a target for theft.

Earlier this year I was playing poker at Harrah's in New Orleans. The card machine at the table wouldn't recognize the old cards and the dealer said I needed to get the new one. The floor went and got a new one made for me on the spot and I kept the old one. The number is the same.
