I just booked a 3 day stay at the Plaza to attend the super bingo sessions in October. I have only stayed at the Golden Nugget in comped rooms and no resort fees. I have the option of staying at the Golden Nugget comped and paying $130 for bingo only or $239 for bingo and 3 nights at the Plaza- no resort feel either way.

For those that have stayed at both the Plaza and Golden Nugget (always choose Gold Tower pool view), would you recommend trying the Plaza for basically $139 for 3 nights? I’m leaning towards the Plaza so I don’t feel obligated to give the Nugget all my play since the room will not be comped. Thoughts? I have never played at the Plaza but play table games: Pai Gow, UTH, Crazy 4 Poker and blackjack- very little or no slots.

I'd lean toward Plaza, just for simplicity. This way you don't feel obligated to play at the Nugget as you would if you accept the comp room, and perhaps your play at the Plaza will open some doors there.

I would say the Nugget because it's nicer than the Plaza. However, if you don't play during your stay it could adversely affect future comps.

GN is much nicer and on a whole different level than Plaza. If you can get a Luxe room and like "thegov" stated - for simplicity - I'd stay at the Plaza. I would also think that the Plaza will have that Bingo "Vibe" since there will be so many of you traipsing all over the property...:D

I like the Plaza when playing the Super Bingo. You can take your lunch back to room during 45 minute break, also can eat in your room the contential breakfast they serve. They have lots of current slots and good table games. I like the pool. Was there for the June Super Bingo.

If you need a fancy hotel room with upscale decor, I’d recommend the Luxe rooms @ the Plaza. They have a great pool (if it’s open then) and plenty of table games, etc. They have fast food, a great steakhouse (with a decent happy hour) and the staff is 100% friendly/helpful. I used to stay at the GN exclusively until my play didn’t even register on their radar. At the Plaza, they treat hubby and I like we’re super-gamblers, but we’re not! Plus, I always prefer staying at the same hotel in which my function is held!

This is my first time playing super bingo. I have decided to stay at the Plaza. What do they serve in the box lunch, just out of curiosity?

Pool is open year round :)
If I remember correctly, there was a chicken cranberry salad sandwich (which was actually really tasty), chips, fruit and maybe a little side of something. also, there was open bar ;)

As most people here on the boards now, I am a big lover of Plaza. I know some folks have had some unfavorable experiences from time to time, but I believe that could happen anywhere. In my opinion Gary, Jonathan, and the rest of the the Plaza staff will do what it takes to make things right. I am a little damsel fish, in a big ocean, and I can say I have been treated exceptionally well there.

Hope you get to yell BINGO! Good luck and please be sure to report back after your trip. Actually, if I am not mistaken, the BINGO is 10/6-9th. I'll be headed to Plaza on the 10th. If you are still going to be there let me know. Maybe we could meet up?!

The boxed lunches during the August super bingo were chicken sandwich one day and turkey sandwich the other.
Let’s just say the homeless people on freemont appreciated the many dozens being given away to them.
The continental breakfast was donuts, bagels, cream cheese and limited muffins if you get there early.

I stayed at the GN for first time this August for 2 nights and was blown away with room/pool/casino.
I didn’t get to stay at the plaza this year (long story)

Good luck if you do the bingo!
