Looking for CET Seafood restaurant recommendations

OK, so my BFF and I are going next month. Our new "strategy" is to pay for one meal, and use my comps for another meal.

I believe that our paid meal will be at Jerry's Nugget for the Prime Rib. I don't want to have red meat two nights in a row. (Our trips are typically <three nights)

So, I was thinking Seafood. Ordinarily, I would have gone to the Seafood buffet at Rio, buit since that's gone, I'm looking for another venue.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a buffet, and as a matter of fact, I would prefer it not to be.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a "seafood only" place, but have a good variety of seafood.

Well, there is an opening at Hell's Kitchen, and I took it. We can always cancel, but I'd like to hear other's recommendations.

Well, sorry about that. It looks like we're splitting:

hk grand shellfish tower for two* lobster, king crab, gulf shrimp, oysters, clams, penn cove mussels

beef wellington* potato puree, glazed root vegetables, red wine demi-glace

and sticky toffee pudding.

Should put us right around $200

I was disappointed with Nobu. I know I’m in the minority with this.

 

The Oyster Bar at Harrahs is very good.

 

Ocean Grill just opened recently at the Forum Shops. The Palm is pretty good, as well. In terms of places within CET restaurants proper (as opposed to the mall), there are options at HK, and I like Sekushi at Paris quite a bit.

 

How about that Chinese place at the Rio?

 

I'm surprised the Oyster Bar at Harrah's isn't on your "we've eaten here" list since you normally stay at Harrah's. It was good the one time I had it.

 

Yeah, I forgot that one, as well as all of the buffets.

 

Highly recommend the lobster risotto at HK.

 

I agree with you. The Japanese-Peruvian fusion just didn't do it for me.

In that case treat your BFF to Sterling Buffet for Sunday brunch. Unlimited lobster tails

 

Thanks for the suggestion, but neither of us drink alcohol, so most of what the Sterling Buffet is known for. It's a better deal for us to order the 4 lb. lobster tail at Joe's. It's way less than $200.

 

Tough to imagine buying that without drinking a bottle of champagne, yeah.

 

few years back they had a group of 8 people at the SB, they were laughing having a good time. the server walked by us and said "they are laughing now, wait till they get the bill" one guy covered the bill for the table, walked to the champagne bucket and grabbed a full bottle, he said "I paid for this" and walked out lol...he was determined to get some of his money back

Speaking of the Forum Shops, has anyone tried The Palm? I was thinking of trying it instead of Joes just to change things up.

 

Love The Palm - I have had several really good meals there. Great service too.
