Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him. —Proverbs 26:4

I usually follow up by saying something like “public corporations don’t spend a billion dollars on a casino to give away rooms and meals.”

I just had a "disagreement" with my friend last week about the legality of prostitution. He was certain it was legal because he saw cops and he saw prostitutes everywhere. When we googled it he thought, well, it's kinda legal because the cops don't care since he saw hookers seeking out clientele with cops standing nearby.

I go solo often, and there's often a misconception about debauchery and things I'm doing. I'm 45, happily married, but some of our friends half jokingly wonder what I'm doing out there.

As others have said, there's a misconception about the costs as well. I get free rooms at Park, Luxor, Mirage, etc. Nothing fancy, just free rooms, I usually drive to Vegas, get a couple of MyVegas cheap buffets. I always go mid week, it's really cheap (I know you all know this!). But that's a big misconception, that I'm spending tons of money on a quick 2 night solo trip.

There's very little alcohol in most of those pre mixed slushie drinks you find on the strip.

I didn't read all of the posts so forgive me if someone already said it. There are people who still think they "pump oxygen" into casinos to keep people awake so that they gamble longer LOL. That is always one of my favs.

Oh my, now we are quoting scripture. To me, that's as bad as talking politics.

Really? It’s been copied and re-stated by others including Mark Twain. Someone had to be the first to scribe it. Does that make it any less relevant? I usually say something like “don’t argue with a fool or you become one yourself”.

I also think a big misconception is you HAVE to lose tens of thousands to get anything. Yes, if you want RFB as mentioned. I don't pull up in the Brinks truck anymore in Vegas, as I love property hopping and don't go steadily enough to take advantage of offers. My lowly play still gets me all but the top rooms in Vegas, plus I also squeeze out places like Aria and Wynn through the apps.

Some interesting responces so far . I’m sure next month when I’m out there I’ll prolly just run a hundred through a VP machine and my entire 4 days will be comped. Room, food, beverages and I’ll prolly get my airfare reimbursed with a limo to the airport. I can’t wait
