It can be a food item or a cuisine. I love Tex-Mex. Mainly Chicken Fajitas.
But Chicken Tacos (w/a crunchy shell) are a close 2nd.

Aw, sheez, there are so many! To the point where I can't even play the "Death Row Meal" game. I wouldn't know what to pick.

The top choices would be (I guess)

    1. Wagyu Tenderloin (Turf)
    2. Maine Lobster
    3. Blue Crab Cakes (Surf)

And, if all else fails, "Meat lovers" Pizza.

I'm not as big as Elvis, yet, but, I'm working on it.

I'm more of a Rare Fruit lover. And although I have never tried Surströmming I'm sure I would hate it just like I hate Lutefisk.

You're a braver one than I, sir. I have various food "sensitivities" that prohibit me from eating certain things (or certain ingredients therein). One of those being, pretty much all "tropical" fruits (melons, bananas, etc.). I can eat all the "citrus" I wish and certain berries (blue... raz... black). As it turns out, "strawberries" are the one and only "anaphylactic" food item for of which I'm aware. I will die if I get anywhere near strawberries. Instant death. Otherwise, I pretty much stay away from fruits.

And, no, I haven't tried either Surströmming or Lutefisk. I'm averse to eating anything that's been prepared in Lye.

My favorite foods are savory and flavorful.
    Nothing sweet.
If every bit of chocolate were to disappear from the planet overnight, I wouldn't shed a tear.
Also, not a huge fan of anything fried. Just a little too Ranitidine conscious as I've gotten older.

Tex Mex - Cheese Enchiladas with a chile con carne sauce, throw in one or two puffy tacos on the side with a good Mexican rice, refried or borracho beans, or a good Chicken Mole - I haven't made that in a long time.:feedme:

Puffy tacos - if anyone has seen these in Vegas tell me where.

My comfort food is Japanese cuisine, since I grew up in a Japanese-American family. So, dishes like Udon, Ramen, Miso Soup, Sukiyaki, Sushi, Tempura, Teriyaki, Tenkatsu ...just to name a few, were pretty common around our dinner table and are still my favorites today. I'm always in search of good Japanese cuisine when I'm traveling too.

Although, I have lots of other favorite cuisines including Italian, German, French (especially, the pastries), Mexican, Chinese, Thai, I love good seafood and could probably live on that alone, if I had too. LOL

Oh, I could do all kinds of Tempura! I once blew over $200.00 at a Japanese Tempura restaurant. So much so, the chef gave me his business card. And I'll do anything on a Teppenyaki grill, as well. I'll even do Wanko Soba. It's all good.

As a general type of food, lamb. Any cut, any way. I'm a big fan of lamb shank, but also love rack of lamb, and I often use meat from a shoulder cut in sauces. I also love how widely the seasoning types for lamb can vary, and I quite enjoy trying all the variations there are out there. If there's a single lamb item on a menu, I can generally guarantee you that's exactly what I'm ordering.

An interesting side note related to this topic, even though it isn't lamb... I had a surgery earlier this month that involved some meticulous and slightly laborious preparation - and, as with any surgery, there was a moderate amount of risk to the surgery. The night before the procedure, I went to have the prime rib at a restaurant here in Toronto that I've been going to since I was a kid... and the prime rib there has always been like none other. Aside from this being my "reward" to myself for getting everything done, I had firmly decided that if the worst was to happen tomorrow, this is the last meal I'd want to have eaten. Luckily, everything worked out :)

PIZZA... not because I was in the business for 20+ years, but probably why. These days I'm into super thin crust with fresh real Italian bulk sausage and right outta the oven so it shreds the roof of my mouth.

I probably eat more eggs than I do anything else. A close second would be chicken.

my favorite food though would be mexican food. Street food type stuff, Carne asada burritos and the like.

So... which comes first, the chicken or the egg??? :D :D :D

{sigh} Usually, I can find something I like to eat in almost every world cuisine... something that doesn't violate my "ingredient sensitivity" rules ... with two significant exceptions...

There are two world cuisines with which I have consistent difficulty.

    1. Indian (not good with Turmeric or other curries)
    2. Mexican
And, no, it's not necessarily a heat/pepper issue, because I can to Thai and/or Wasabi all day long.
