Since the changes went into effect at Boyd I've been reevaluating my downtown action. I still get 3 nights at MSS, but staying there and playing there seems a waste when I know I'm not going to generate any significant future comps. I gave Four Queens a little action on my last 2 trips, they sent me a two night comp plus $60 Freeplay, so I jumped on it.

They comped me a south tower room on the second floor. No complaints. The room was nicely renovated. No view and shoddy carpeting in the hallway, but I really don't care about that.

The Freeplay was automatically loaded onto my card. I gave enough play to generate $60 in cash back and I believe double that in comps with the help of the double points coupon in the American Casino Guide. About $240 plus the room, which is great. I gave them about 15k in coin in, about 95% of that was video poker.

I was down about $1000 until a few hours before I had to go home when I snagged the 5th card for a 50 cent royal at the Chicago Brew Pub.

It's nice to have a winning trip, and be treated so well. I'll definitely be back. I've already received a couple better offers from them for the next few months.

Thanks for posting. The royal is gorgeous, congrats. Did you take any pics of the room? I'd love to see what they're like after refurb.

I'm staying at the 4 Queens for the first time in years on my trip that's coming up in a few weeks. I feel just like you about Boyd...it's just a short matter of a time before they drop me for not being able to maintain my card status and with that will go my free rooms. I must play at the same level as you as I have the same offer of 3 free nights at the California but eventually I know I'll be cut. 4 Queens, I have arrived!

Thanks for the trip report! Last minute rallies are great and can turn a mediocre gambling trip into a memorable one!

Glad you like how the 4 Queens is treating you. Lessens the sting brought about by the Boyd new players program.

No pictures, but I think they have some accurate ones on their website. They do have a mini fridge in the room. Very similar in quality to rooms at MSS and California.

So far, Boyd is treating me the same. If that changes, Four Queens is number 1 on my list of places I will change to.
Congrats on the Royal! Chi Brewing is the only place we play at 4Q and Kimee is the best bartender.

4Q is great. I see from the picture that you were playing 10/6 DDB, which is a 99.9+% game. To that you add the .3125% cash back, the comp dollars at .625% and the mailers. Can't beat it!!

And the Chicago Brew Pub is fantastic. Good food, good beer:beer:, good video poker and you can light up your favorite cigar!! Only in America!!:usa:

The 4Queens just might become the most popular hotel/casino to stay and play Downtown!!

Which day did you hit the royal? Was it on 3/19 or possibly 3/21? I was there on 3/21 having lunch and the guy at the end of the bar hit the royal for $2k.

3/20 I believe. Thursday. Early afternoon or late morning. Far right seat.

VERY nice! Congrats. Chicago Brew PUB, our favorite Downtown spot for their deep dish pizza and brewski. They treat players royally at the bar. Just wish they had more seats.

The standard rooms at the 4Q are better than the standard rooms at the Fremont, but not as nice as the standard rooms at the Cal.

I now play only at the 4Q. As a dollar and 50 cent DDB player, nothing beats the 10/6 at bartops, plus the comps an cant eat enough of it and they send me at least $200 a month, and I really am winning more, haven't lost more than 1000 in past 6 trips playing $1 and 50 cent. So I think the paytables really make the difference. And I love kimee too. I play at the bar by the street during the day and when it gets too crazy move upstairs later. Nothing beats the 4q as a DDB player that only likes bartops as myself.
