Sometimes when I hit a handpay, I will go sit at another machine across the aisle to wait for the slot attendant. Kind of funny watching some people decide to sit down and play. Even try to put money in. Or sometimes just try to cash out.

Some do not have a clue. Some are up to no good.

I just love watching and getting a cheap thrill out of it.

    Anyone else do different things?

    I sometimes do similar.

One time I went to the restroom and there was a guy sitting at my (locked up) machine when I got back. I said something like, can I get back in there, and he responded, oh, no, sorry, I'm playing this one.

Once the shock wears off I’m usually trying to flag someone down to pay me. The few I’ve had have taken forever to get an attendant. The except was last sept at aria. It was about 8 am so I had really great service. I spend most of the time taking pictures and texting people.

I was sitting and waiting for the attendant to come for may hand pay once, and a guy came up and tried to put money in the machine. I WAS SITTING DOWN DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF IT!!!

This is why I don't utilize OP's idea.

I have been very fortunate getting 3 handpays over the last year. I've been rude and sent pics to my Vegas buddies that did not make the trip.

That's the fun/funny part. Let them try to play it. And watch as they try to figure out what is wrong the machine... LOL!

After hitting my 10k multi royal at MSS and rejoining my friends at the Mirage, I asked at the Sportsbook Bar for "the best shit that they got." I was making an Achewood reference to the eBay Platinum Reserve strip but they didn't laugh. Had to specify to get some cognac.

I quickly try and figure out if I'm even for the day. In the end, it doesn't matter...

    A short story . . . .

About 18 years ago when I went to Las Vegas with my then fiancee' (now ex-wife) for a slot tournament at Paris, I was doing horribly on my first day, in fact so bad that I was late to take her to breakfast . . . I said, I'll walk over to Ballys, with $300, and if I don't do anything there, then I'll just have to cut back for the whole trip . . . . So, I sat down at a $5 Double Diamond carousel, and after about 8 pulls, I got Double Diamond . . . then a second Double Diamond . . . it seemed like forever for that third wheel to stop . . . on . . . Double Diamond!!! Close to a $10,000 hit. I was so relieved (and shocked) that I forgot to ask for a portion of it in a check . . . So, I walked back to Paris with my hand in my front pocket tightly squeezing the wad of $100 bills.

When I finally got to the room, I told my ex-wife, "Sorry I'm late. If we're in a gambling location and I miss a time, it's one of three things, I'm either horribly down, I'm on a roll, or I'm waiting for a hand pay", and with that last statement, threw the wad of bills out on the bed. I said, let's go to the bank any put most of this away. Luckily, there was a branch of my bank on Flamingo, and we deposited a bunch and then went to have a nice breakfast.

Things have changed now, 1)I make it a point NEVER to miss a meeting at a gambling venue. I consider it rude and poor time management. 2)If over $5000, I always take a portion in a check.

If you’re like my gf you hit a handpay while waiting on the attendant to pay the first one. I wouldn’t know the problem.

Never would think about doing with OP mentioned and surprised it hasn't resulted in more altercations and frustrations rather than entertainment.
When I hit a hand pay you can bet I am not going to leave the machine.

Done it many times. Never an issue.

Not sure how it could be an issue.

Well, most of us are aware that the casino considers the person who pushed the button to be the winner of the jackpot. So if you vacate your seat and a person sits down and attempts to claim your prize, wouldn’t the casino be obligated to pull video? Just because your card is in the machine wouldn’t be considered proof that you pushed the button. Sounds like you’re inviting a waste of time.

Last handpay was at around 8am and the casino was dead. I was playing with my BFF who I normally consider a cooler. It came in the middle of a bonus, and I thought I may have been hallucinating. When the bonus stopped and the machine locked up, I apparently got up and ran around about three banks of machines while she screamed at me to "Get back here!" It must have been an andrenaline rush, because normally I am a lazy shit & just smile smugly through my shock. In fairness, it was a bigass handy on a very small bet!

I would love to see the video on that haha!

    This!
Leaving a jackpot machine before the slot attendant checking your ID
and putting your info into their system, is a risk you don't have to take,
and you would gain nothing by taking it.
