Was inspired by the thread about overnight dining on the strip. As a night owl, I miss many of the old coffee shops downtown especially Bay City Diner and Careful Kitty’s. Seems like a lot of places switched to fast food outlets as their late night dining option.

Plaza - McDonalds, Subway (weekends only)
    MSS - 777 Brewery
    California - Market Street Cafe
    Golden Gate - none
Golden Nugget - Claim Jumper, Starbucks
Fremont - Lanai Express, Dunkin Donuts
    Four Queens - Magnolia’s Verandah
    Binion’s - none
The D - American Coney Island, McDonalds
    El Cortez - Siegel’s 1941
Downtown Grand - Freedom Beat, walk to Gold Spike and eat at Fiddlestix

    Non-casino
    Denny’s
    White Castle
    Gold Spike - Fiddlestix

    Coming soon
Taco Bell Cantina (assuming it is 24 hours)

777 Brewpub has a limited menu in the wee hours of the morning. But still varied enough to satisfy your cravings.

When I just want to eat fast, get the food fast, then go to sleep I order the won ton mein noodles in soup. Fills you up, soothes your drunk stomach, and makes you want to go zzzzzz.........

I thought that Binions had that restaurant by the tables open early in the morning. What was it, Benny's Cafe?

Sorry, just checked the Binions web site. the café is only open until 2 am.

Oh wow. Never realized it wasn’t the standard Claim Jumper menu at that location or that they were open 24 hours.

That must have changed, because I definitely remember having a few 5am breakfasts in there.

I miss the downstairs coffee shop at Binion's. Had a few late-night drunk meals there.

I believe Subway at the El Co is open 24/7. I ate the best sandwich ever....philly steak, egg, and cheese on flat bread at about 4:30 am not so long ago.

"Subway" and "best sandwich ever" do not ever belong in the same sentence! Drunk, high, sober, they're always mediocre at best.

You didn't eat this particular sandwich with the particular amount of "hanger" I had at the time, so with all due respect, you have no authority on the subject.

There are really no bad choices, but nothing soaks up the booze like an American Special from Coney Island.

Market Street Cafe at the California; they have several "Graveyard Specials". Try the oxtail soup, it's delicious and a great cure/preventive for a hangover.

I like Magnolias at the Four Queens. Lots of coupons in the ACG anLVA books. I recently ordered pork chops and was glad I did. It was the first time I have ever ordered pork chops in a restaurant and they were tasty.
