So many things on that Forte menu I want to try - stuffed cabbage rolls, chicken paprikash, markona almond stuffed dates, I’m hungry!

Saturday the 17th:

Went to JERRY’S NUGGET this morning and bought $300.00 more in sports bets. Finished up $75.00 from yesterday’s bets. The wife lost $60.00 on a bar top to add to the hundo I lost this morning slotting at ACD waiting for the wife.

Left JERRY’S NUGGET and dropped the wife at the PLAZA for tickets to A Mob Story. The Mob Story ticket sales were not open yet. I parked at the GG and was trying to get my ONE card portal fixed and failed to get that done – it appears Mrs. V signed in first with my email account and you have to have a separate email for each user. Even switching to her email account with her card and the very helpful ladies at the Players Club, it still will not let me use my email to log in. Hopefully we will be able to get it straightened out, but it is going to take someone in IT to do it me thinks. However, I was able to drop another hundo on Elvira at the GOLDEN GATE.

We then walked over to BINIONS and used some free play – Mrs. V won $3.36.

Back to the PLAZA for tickets. They have really added machines to the floor - looked good in there. The wife used free play and won $5.57. On to the ticket booth - still not open so we gave up and went SPINETTI’S and bought a chip and some cards. This went smooth – finally.

Next, we went down Charleston to FRANKIES TIKI ROOM for a drink. I had a Mai Tai and the wife had the Bearded Clam - I found that to be ironic. This time we purchased the drinks in the collectors Tiki mugs - after all - we are tourists, ya know.

Off to FORTE for lunch. We each had Chebureki’s and split Forte Fries. I had a glass of wine. I really liked that wine, so I bought a bottle to take home and some Babek. We also split a piece of Bulgarian Biscuit Cake. This is the best dessert I have ever had. All the food was good and the service was fine. This was the fifth time we have eaten here and we really enjoy it. (PS – the tap WATER is served in old Vodka bottles)

Stopped at the SIN CITY PICKERS store and bought a deck of cards and some matchbooks. It was an interesting place - glad we stopped. Now back at ACD for a nap.

It was like Dances With The Stars gets mixed up in the mob. Mrs. V really enjoyed it. Mr. V not so much

Saturday, Continued:

After naptime, it was time for Ron’s Steakhouse in ACD. The server brought out a breadbasket to get us started. The basket was filled with white bread, a crisp wafer type bread and raison bread. The raison bread was the best and you had your choice of three different butters. Enjoyed the different flavors. The salad was next. The wife really enjoyed hers. They shred the carrots and beets so it looks like a curl of Raggedy Ann Hair on top of your salad – all coiled and curled up on top of the lettuce. Then came the entrée. The wife had a 6oz filet I had the 8oz filet covered in peppercorn sauce with a very small side of mashed potatoes and three whole mushrooms. The wife’s was excellent and mine so tender I could cut it with my fork. The peppercorn sauce was just to overpowering on this cut. It would have been better without the sauce. Finished with a flaming crème brule. The meal was as good as any we have ever had. The final bill was $14.00 after $45.00 comp, the club discount and used points.

After supper, it was time to head to the PLAZA to see A Mob Story. Got there early so killed some time on a Brady Bunch slot. Lost $50.00 before our drinks came. Found Elvira and was ready for a little jiggle time. Caught a bonus for $95.00 and cashed out $35.00 up. Then it was show time. I was pumped. Like Flounder in Animal House, I thought “Oh boy - this going to be great.” It was not. I never thought so much singing and dancing were needed to tell the story of the mob in Vegas. The storyteller was very good and I’m sure the dancers were too, I’m just not a fan of musicals. And to top it off, Michael Franzese was not there (he was off filming a reality show). I might have liked part of it if he had been there to tell his story. I would not go again and I would not have gone tonight if I knew earlier what I know now. However, I think the wife loved it but I’ll let her tell about that. (Mrs. V here – I already said something when I posted the picture, didn’t I?)

After the show, we walked down Fremont Street. It was packed. We stopped and listened to a couple of songs from both bands and thought they were pretty good. Would have stayed longer if there were less people. Finally got down to the FREMONT so the wife could satisfy her chocolate needs at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Having taken care of the wife’s chocolate jones, we headed back to the PLAZA. I must say, that place is looking better than ever and it was full of people. I felt like a slice of pizza and wife did too so went over to Pop-Up Pizza and each got a slice. The wife’s piece was small so they gave her one more slice. That was awesome of them. Thought the pizza was good – but not Pizza Rock good. With that, we headed back to ACD and called it a night.
