    My Trip Report

    Oh hey, you guys!

    Guess what time it is?

    It's VEGAS Time!

If you are thinking, weren't you just in Vegas? You're right. I was. But I'm off again to the land of sin and money. My High Roller Friend (HRF) who has featured in prior reports was trying to convince me to come out for the long weekend. Then I got a great offer from Four Queens. So I said - let's do this. And then, because I'm constitutionally unable to help myself, a long weekend turned into six nights in Paradise. And then my mom decided to come out to visit with my cousin and the Cutest Baby in the World who are in Henderson until mid-December. So it's a party!

As usual, I'm jumping around a bit to chase comps and offers.

    11/8 - Silver Sevens
    11/9 - 11/11 - Four Queens
    11/12 - 11/13 - The D

    Plans for this trip:
    • So Much Video Poker (I'm even going to medium roll a bit and do some $ JOB at QQQQ)
    • Copious Alcohol Consumption (I'm currently on glass #2 of wine at the airport lounge)
    • Nice Dinners @ Andiamo, Redwood Grill, and maybe Hugo's Cellar
    • Sigma Derby
    • Hanging out in Henderson with the Family
    • Craps
    • Happy Hours Galore
    • Sports Ball Watching
    • Skyline Casino

I'll be doing this semi-live, which for me means random thoughts/pictures throughout the day. And a wrap up at the end of the night or the next morning of all the things I didn't get to live.

Very cool! My brother and his crew always stay at Silver Sevens but I am such a bum I have never found the time to go in there. I hope the blackjack conditions are still good there. Have a great time!

I hardly ever check a bag, but I’m flying Frontier and a checked bag was cheaper than a carry on, so this time I did. Number of times I’ve panicked thinking I’ve lost my suitcase: 2 and counting.

No line at security at Dulles so I had time to pop over to the Turkish Airways lounge for a nibble and sip.

I’m still recovering from some Penguins related overindulgence last night. So the plan is to down two quick drinks on the flight (Baileys?) and try to get some sleep. Wish me luck.

These airline fees are CRAZY, how can a checked bag be cheaper than a carry on(and why is there even a charge for a carry on)? I guess it’s a Frontier thing! I have an Alaska Air Visa card and checked bag (one) is free, I check it every time and have never had a problem, knock on wood. Hope you can get some pics of silver sevens rooms etc I’ve thought about going there sometime but never have. Anyway good luck and hope you have a great time.......

I highly HIGHLY recommend Second Street Grill for a great dinner. It’s quite, understatedly elegant and the service is amazing. Food is great and the price point is much lower than you’d expect. I did a full review with pics in Jan/Feb of this year. Might look for it, because as you know, a picture is worth 1000 filets!

Have a great and successful trip!!!
Love $1 JoB at the 4Qs. The comp rate is so high the game goes near, if not into, positive territory.
Skyline has a GREAT promo at the main bar. First find a $.25 game with 9/6 JoB (most of them are, but not all of them are) that's on the progressive. Then start a 'bingo' card. Each quad have them sign off on the card. When you fill the card with every denomination of quad (each month a different number is wild...it was Jacks in Sept, Queens in Oct) they pay you $200. I've almost completed my card. The game is about 102% return at the beginning of the progressive ($1,250). Wonderful! And definitely try the $1.50 shrimp cocktail. It was better than the $19 shrimp cocktail I had at Andiamo's, no sh*t.
We love Hugo's Cellar. Meals come with so many extras you realize that the $55 (?) price tag is well worth it. Table side salad, intermezzo, final chocolate dipped fruits...with all entrees. Wonderful...and a great way to use up all of those mounting comps you get at 4Qs.
    Lastly...
A new craps monster. Welcome to the crack cocaine of table games. :p

Finally landed in Vegas around 11:45PM. Zzzzzzz. The two times Bailey's plan worked and I got a few hours of sleep on the plane. Good thing too - I have to telework (east coast time) tomorrow and that alarm is going to be WAY too early.

Got my bag without too much hassle and HRF was kind enough to pick me up at the airport and drop me off at Silver Sevens.

Silver Sevens hotel is. ... a hotel. I really don't know what to think of it. I'm not sure if I'm in a base room or if I got upgraded, but the room is huge. Its definitely what used to be two rooms that were combined. It's reasonably clean, but the furniture is pretty worn in many places. Also getting a lot of noise from the hallway - hopefully that dies down. I'm also annoyed that they charge a resort fee on comp rooms (they disclosed when I booked, so not a surprise). $30 for a "free" room - what do they think they are? The strip? Not sure I'd stay here again. Maybe I'll feel differently in the morning when I'm not sleep deprived.

Room at Silver Sevens (sorry for the dark pictures)

Ugh. I know. But when it came down to it, even with the fees Frontier was a direct flight for $160 one way (from Dulles, ick). The only other option was a connecting flight on AA (out of Reagan) - but that one was $340 one way. So, I sucked it up and did Frontier. The flight was chock full, but surprisingly comfortable.

Thanks! This is on my list of places to hit up at some point. HRF has a gold card and promised Redwood Grill this trip, but I'll try to put Second Street Grill on the radar for next trip.

    Craps! I blame you!

I got about half way through my bingo card at Skyline last trip - loving it. Is the $1.50 shrimp cocktail at the restaurant?

$1 JOB is definitely creeping into positive territory this weekend. 4Q is doing $25 in FP for every 400 points earned up to $500 FP.

Work is officially done for the trip. It’s degen time.

I did manage to sneak away for a “lunch” break. Played off my $30 in FP and the. Lost $25 putting through $1,500 on VP. Not a bad morning.

Used $15 F&B comp for lunch at the cafe for HRF and I. Food was competent cafe food, but nothing special. I think the plan is market street cafe for dinner. But for now I’m off to Mikes Bar for VP and booze.

    Pics from this morning.
