NFL Week 1 Games and Wagers

Nine days form the start of the regular season. So its time to start weekly threads for discussions about the games and wagers you are making. I will kick things off. Here are my bets for Week 1:

Philly/Atl UNDER 46
Saints -9.5
Ravens -6.5
Vikes -5.5
Browns +5.5
Chargers -3

The chargers and Vikes are the two wagers I like most. I think both win by double digits

Best I can do for week 1. Always have a hard time prior to seeing the teams for a couple weeks.

 

Would love to see a nice old-fashioned defensive game for the opener and have been waiting for one since this Thursday Night S*** started to open the season..How about a 13-7 game for once?
Kinda ballsy bet on the Browns but hope it works for ya.
I think the N.O. bet is a winner also but you may be sweating that a bit in the 4th!

unless you have some anti-raiders local, that's a bs line as -3 @-115 is the best rams line being offered. or you're buying the hook.

I assumed it was some off-shore line. If I had found Rams at -2.5 when I was placing wagers last week, I would have jumped on it

 

you and everyone else. vegasinsider shows basically every line available, including offshore, which all copycat each other anyway.
a line at 3 doesn't move much beyond juice, barring serious injury or other changes. i think the line goes to 3.5 if donald reports and/or signs an extention and mack does not report. however, i think both are not in the lineup in 13 days.
regardless, this is a square/fishy line because the raiders have literally zero talent in the front seven on defense sans mack.. the rams 2nd best offensive player is arguably the LT Whitworth (and the 2nd best player overall without donald in the lineup), and they should have no problems moving the ball on offense with play action and gurley.

 

Was curious how the NFL news the past two days had impacted the lines. No real surprises. The lines moved slightly in favor of Atlanta (and the under), the Rams, and the Bears

Balt. -61/2. Bills will be worst team in football this year.
Carolina -3. Dallas strong O-Line, no more.

 

I like all three. Obviously, I already bet that Saints line and got the Vikes at -5.5. I didn't bet the Rams when it was -3. Still think the line is pretty sharp. I was already assuming Mack wouldn't be available for the first game for Oakland. But now they are also losing their WR2. Cooper can't catch every pass. That team has the potential to be a mess.

 

Totally Agree with you , Raiders are a mess, I think Chuckie is in for a big surprise this year.

 

Week 1, I always love the Underdogs.

This year is no different. I'll fade all of the division games, and feel confident in the rest of the 'dogs, playing a variety of parlays.

I especially love the Texans at the Patriots (I'll bet heavy on them with +6.5 and will also likely bet the money line on Houston as well if it hangs close the the current +230 when I get to Vegas on Saturday!).

 

dogs have more motivation/optimism, but i don’t think it’s a good match up for dallas, buffalo, or seattle. redskins if you want to call them a dog, I love them in this spot as they are healthy for once.

 

Liking Ravens -7 , Josh Allen will have rookie struggles, and Rams -4.5 with Mack trade official.

 

Liking Browns +5.5 w Bell holding out...(but then again, I am the poster child for amateur sports betting)
