Has anyone tried the express take-out option at Wicked Spoon? If so what was the size of the container? A standard big square box, or a smaller rectangle?

I assume it would go by the weight

Wicked Spoon is AYCE. I doubt that it would go by weight . . . . .

I've been to AYCE buffets where to go is by the weight... OP wants take-out from a buffet. I am just going by general experience.

The general "rule" is the lid has to close...Is it a big square box"?...???... Is it worth $20...yes, IMO.

Wife and I tried this when we were tired and just wanted to go back to the room to eat. I think it's worth the $20. But the box has partitions, which makes it harder to lay food down. And while they never told us the lid has to close, it's a good idea that it snaps shut because you don't want it to spill over. Probably a good idea to see what you want, then strategically focus on how to fit it all in the box. They give you either bottled water, which is small, similar to what the cocktail waitresses bring while you're playing in the casino or a drink in a small cup. I guess it all depends. From having tried it, there's only so much I can cram in it and thus, eat. So I think it's worth the price. But if your intent is to try everything, then it's a better idea to just dine there.

They're not publicizing it, but a couple of months ago, K.S. said they were going to let Gold tier members use the daily 2-for-1 buffet benefit to do a solo sitting instead at half price. Not sure it's still in effect, but I haven't seen otherwise. I wouldn't expect that to apply to takeout.

That's a lot of space to waste on the take-out box with a big roll...

I don't believe the member who asked for it has had a Vegas trip since it was implemented. Very few other people will be aware of it.

We've done it twice, last fall and this spring. We had a group of 6. Each person was tasked with getting one dish they liked in the their container then fill the rest as following: 2 people were to get Carbs, 2 Meats, 1 salad type stuff and 1 desert. Then were would meet back up in one of our rooms and have an in room buffet, using plates we got from Walgreens. For the price, it's a major steal, especially if you are a Wicked Spoon vet and know what you want.

While at Beau many people were just filling them with as many shrimp as they could squeeze. Only problem was they still had the heads on , so some wasted space. I could see me popping some heads off to get more shrimp in.

As opposed to getting one plate of exactly what they wanted each?

Some people eat the shrimp heads. I recently learned to do it. It is popular among Asians.

Hi Chuck! Did you ever try this the 2-1 to half price for solo? I might have a solo trip coming (no time off work for better half).....and I forgot you mentioned this!

I'm gold, so BOGO is great unless it's SOLO BOGO. Thank you bunches if you have time to answer! (And even if you don't...I'm in the red for all of your great advice :))

If you don't know, I might be gutty and ask the Identity desk if it can be applied to BOGO ..my meal onsite, and second meal take-out. Probably a no, but Cosmo is so slick on making their program user-friendly, it's worth asking.

No, I haven't done it and I haven't seen anyone say they tried it. I'll PM you a screenshot of K.S.'s message so you can use it as backup when you go to the Identity Desk.

Not for nothing, but if you think about the actual scale of the items in the tray, that photo of the takeout tray is way tiny....a mini drumstick, a few microscopic chunks of sausage and a thin sliver of meat with rice is most definitely not worth $20!! I would rather pay for the real full buffet or go to an actual restaurant where you can get a full size plate of something great for $20, give or take depending on where you decide to go.

@Multifarious5 @Chuck2009x I used the BOGO from being gold at cosmo 2 weeks ago. I was solo and they gave me 50% off with no issues. I had a message saved on my phone from Kevin but didn't need it.
