Good Intentions

Hi all:

I have written a few reports before, and I have to apologize for one that I never did finish. I usually write the reports after I come home and in chunks. Last time I was doing that and I had something come up in life and I had to put things on hold. Anyways, as I said, I usually write these when I get home, but because of the nonsense that happen yesterday, I wanted to write my trip up fresh and hopefully keep it going through Monday.

Every year around this time, my mom and my dad would come to Vegas as it was my dad's birthday and their anniversary was close as well. 11 years ago my father passed away and now I go with my mom on this trip. I go to Vegas 4 to 6 times a year and this one is different in that well quite honestly, it is usually pretty boring for me. I love the time I spend with my mom but there is only so much 5 dollar pai gow a guy can take. We live in the LA area. My mom does real estate appraising and I teach (ugh almost time to go back to work..)

Yesterday we drove up in the morning and the plan was this... head to Silverton, spend some time there play the good ol 5 dollar pai gow (my mom also likes those 5 cent keno machines..whoopee) then go to the M for our free buffet and free play and then figure it out. That did not happen as planned..

We got to Silverton and all the pai gow were 10 dollars and she didnt like any of the keno machines, so after 1 lap, we left 2 disgruntled people. Actually, I really didn't care, Silverton is just okay. So we decided to try South Point. She found a machine she liked and I stayed with her a while before I went off to wander around. I found a quarter and then dollar video poker machine I liked and after playing a while I was even which as well all know is a win. I got up and for some reason, those machines with usually 9 to 20 lines with the triple 7's or butterfly 7's or 8 times pay..you guys know the one a 3 by 5 machine that pays and pays and pays, and you lose 60 cents a spin? I like those. I went from 100 to 50 in about 9 seconds somehow.. I lost like 14 straight spins somehow. So that was fun. I walked right back to the video poker machine that I was on and just went straight to dollars. (by the way, the machine made no noise, it's my fault for playing it). I lost 300 in what seemed to be a shorter amount of time then the last machine. I said to myself, well I am going to try 1 100 in a 5 dollar machine..if I lose it (when) I will be down 500 and feeling just wonderful about reaching such an even number 30 minutes after we got here.

I marched right over and sat at a double double machine. First hand, dealt 2 aces, then nothing. Second hand, dealt 2 aces, then nothing. Third hand, dealt 2 aces, then nothing. But this nothing was different. It didnt quickly count up my 5 credits like it normally would. There was a brief pause, and then music started playing.. oh I guess this is why!!



Unbelievable. I went and got my mom and she yelled at me for being in the high limit (which is fair). then was very excited for me.

I took 8 in a check which I already deposited and kept 2 for cash.

We eventually made it to the M where I had 15 in free play and was very upset that I didn't win any money. The buffet as always was awesome. We went to green valley and I hit this funny little thing on nickels.



We are staying at Fiesta Henderson (we both hate it, but it's free and she hates the strip where I could also get us free rooms, so this is on her). they do have 5 dollar pai gow though so that makes her happy. I tried very hard not to go nuts last night and found myself into a Buffy machine 1000. I had promised myself to take it easy. Way to go me. I was complaining about how much I didnt really like that show anyways, when I hit the bonus and bam.


Later on I was a few hundred into multi streak game playing quarters and I got this little guy to round out the best gambling day of my life.


At some point last night, a lady sat next to me on a triple play quarters and on her first hand made a royal flush for 1k on the middle hand. It was awesome because I was genuinely happy for her, not the fake omg that's so cool but why didn't that happen to me and I hate your guys please get your excitement away from me type of happy.

I did some financial looking last night and man with the money I won yesterday, I can really actually change things because that will honestly take care of a ton of little annoying debts I have. So I will do my best to try and keep this live now, but man it might be boring. As I said, I planned to do a full write up on this trip when I got home, but I really wanted to share what happen yesterday with the people on here that I read pretty much on a daily basis.

Let me know if anyone has any great ideas for spending the next 4 days trying not to give a large portion of this back lol. I remember I just read someone's post about being up 1k to 1500 early often and then giving it back..I had thought to myself, well I never have that dang problem.. now I have it literally 10 fold.

Good problem to have though..

That’s hugely lucky to hit AWAK on $5 on just four hand try.
If you’re not a gambler (and it don’t seem like you are) it should be easy to hold on to...just act like you didn’t win it.

Seems like it should be 4th with the 15 credits but it was 10k win not 10k and 5 credits. I do gamble, I’m about to finally make diamond at CET. I just don’t lie the 5 dollar pai gow and nickel keno machines my mom plays for very long. That’s my problem I’m going to wander around and stick money into machines and chase chase chase.. gotta be careful (yeah right)

 

Thank you to everyone who said congrats.. pretty much still in shock.. I’m glad I took so much in check and went right to bank.. just don’t withdraw as advised is super plan number 1!

 

Update mom made it down at 931 (oh I forgot to set an alarm )

 

Went over to jokers wild for breakfast. 8 bucks for two meals and one juice. Paid with points.
