Staying 3 nights at 4Qs first week of May. Friday/Saturday/Sunday. Booked for "casino rate" so fairly cheap, and already paid for the first night. Question is: what kind of play would even warrant me asking a host for a back end comp for the last two nights? Assume whatever bankroll and what have you, I just want some insight from people who have gotten back end comps. Don't want to go to a host and waste either of our time if my play wasn't sufficient. Their comps are already nice with cash back and comp dollars but I'm curious. Any insight would be much appreciated, cheers!
I don't know about the four queens, but at The D I just stop in the host office the night before I leave and talk to whoever is at the desk. They can let you know what they will take off. Don't be embarrassed to ask. I haven't paid for a room in years, and I am definitely not even a mid roller
I am not sure what kind of play is needed, but it never hurts to ask. the hosts do have some wiggle room. you may catch them in a good or bad mood.
How much time could you really be wasting? 5 minutes? You don't get if you don't ask. I always phrase it this way...."is it possible that we've played enough to get some of our room charges picked up?" That makes it less uncomfortable for everyone IMHO. They are usually pretty good about not making it uncomfortable for you. Hey, even if they pick up $100 in charges, that's like making $1200 per hour for your 5 minutes of time.
Admittedly I'm not one to talk since I myself have never asked for backend comps, but I've recently learned from this forum (and others) that even if you don't officially "qualify" for them, sometimes they'll knock off a few bucks as a courtesy. As such, it truly never hurts to ask.
Reminds me of what El Cortez used to do offers when there was kind of light play on my card. They would send out a letter clearly saying what it took to be comped for the night. I think they had a requirement of 2,500 points earned that day for a weekday comp and 3,500 points per day for a weekend night. There was some limit (If I recall correctly, it may have been 7 nights), but they clearly laid out what it took to be comped for each night. I had to get a voucher when I reached the points that day and bring it to the front desk for them to apply the comp - otherwise it would be charged at the casino rate.
My dad just got back last week and stayed at 4Q for the first time in Vegas for 20 years. Brought 2500 for gaming for the Sun-Wed trip. He only plays VP, Host came up to him while playing and said the room was covered and see her at the end for anything additional. He had a couple decent hits so def got plenty of play on his 2500 BR but if you’re anywhere near that it’s definitely worth a visit.
Asking about comps is like a thirteen year old asking for dates: the more you learn about no, the better you get at asking.
I go to FQ one or two times per year, staying five nights. They give me three nigjts free up front with mail offers. I've been getting the last two nights comped at the end. I average about 1500 points per day playing vp, $12000 coin through a day.
