    My Trip Report

Decided to make a normal "day trip" to QQQQ for Silver Strikes, I will spend about $500-$600 (or less, depending) and see what I get . . . my friend already picked up my $300 strike this past weekend.

A quick down and back trip.

Wish me luck! Reds and blues (and yellows, cuz they added a $40 strike)

Stupid question I know but how does getting these work? I'd never heard of a Silver Strike till I joined this board.

Well, I'm home. Another whirlwind day.

Got to QQQQ about 11AM. Looked for the $40 strike machine, and they put it near the front of the casino, by the "Win a Car" slot machines. The machine was being used, so I went to the bank of 6.

The machines were really out of sync, and it took me 23 clear cap strikes before I got my first colored cap strike. At 12:15PM, I had put in $600 and hadn't completed a set of red/blues. This cycle there were:

$300 - my friend picked up mine the previous Saturday
    (1) $40 - this was new. More on this later.
    (2) red caps
    (2) blue caps

Didn't hit anything in the way of payouts, the best I did were a couple of 40 coin payouts. Tough and tight . . . . .

So, I took a break to cash in some football playoff tickets and make some superbowl bets for me and my BFF.

I wandered down to the $40 strike machine. Unlike the other Strike Machines, this one is a Red, Whte and Blue 7's machine, with two jackpot symbols on the third reel. Still $0.25, with a 3 coin max (needed to qualify for the Silver Strikes.

It has 5 columns of $10 clear caps, and one column of yellow (Gold maybe?) $40 strikes. The $40 strikes are 1.5 ozt. (troy ounces .999 silver)

There are "horror stories" about this machine, and some people spending $500 to get the gold cap, but then again, they probably got several clear caps as well, offsetting the $500.

So, I put a $50 ticket that was left over from the previous session and added a $100 bill.

Played through about $40, including my highest hit of the day three triple bars, which paid 80 (or was it 160, hmmmm, can't quite recall.

    Anyway,at about the $50 mark,

    upload_2018-1-31_18-9-43.png

Hooray!!! Gold cap strike!! Played down to $100 and decided not to press my luck, I still had one more red cap to make to finish my set.

Went back to the bank of 6 and played a single machine. After 3 clear caps, bingo!!! a red cap. Cashed out immediately. Earned $10.00 in comps for my play.

    Here's the final haul

    upload_2018-1-31_18-12-16.png

42 clear, 1 gold, two reds, two blues

    upload_2018-1-31_18-14-11.png

    upload_2018-1-31_18-14-37.png

Now, the only "problem" was that the reds and blues were a matched pair, but, I have already put out a message on the Silver Striker board for anyone who wants to swap, and I already have one of the blues swapped out.

Took Uber back to the airport and ate at Pei Wei diner

    Mandarin beef over egg noodles

    upload_2018-1-31_18-16-29.png

California roll (ended up taking this home for dinner)

    upload_2018-1-31_18-17-3.png

Total expenditure was (net) -$400 plus travel expenses. Funny, the Uber to and From the airport was as much as one flight leg.

Anyway, mission accomplished. I'll publish pictures of the missing strikes when I get them.

Well, looking at last years day trip, It kind of evens out.

    2017
The total cash outlay was (just for slot machines)
$470, and I got 53 silver strikes, forty eight clear, two red and three blue
Nominally, that adds up to $650 in silver strikes.
Total travel costs were about $150.
All the Silver Strike machines are three reel Double Diamond machines
    I hit a DD - DD - 7, and a DD - DD - 3bar, which kept me playing.

    So, it all evens out.

I never heard about these until I saw it on this board. I went to QQQQ's and got 3 clear ones. I am happy that I got them, and will keep trying for colored ones, even though I don't know what to do with them. They do make nice souvenirs though.

Oh in my head you weren't keeping all those clears, I figured you were selling back duplicates at least. If you kept all those, then you did well on $400!

Clears are "worthless", except as souvenirs or in exchange for the $300 strike four times a year. I am now set for the next four $300 distributions.

In fact, while I am there, if there are people that win them and don't want to keep them, I offer them $12.00 for them vs. the cage, which only pays $10. It's helps me through the "rough spots". Less I have to play to get 'em.

Nice report. Are the $40 Gold tokens always there or just at certain times?

So do they ask for only 25 clears in exchange for a $300 token? Is that why you offer $12 for a clear?
