    Hubris...

After vanquishing the pig, I got cocky. And the caramel made me pay.

Is that the caramel pot de crème?
    It is, isn't it?
    So good.
    Don't talk to me.

My dinner was a peach and greek yogurt, while you, @thecarve, are SUCH a foodie showoff...have you no shame? Hubris indeed. At least you could offer to share..:feedme:

Get your buns back to the casino and show us some wins - if you gambled half as successfully as you eat, we'd be seeing some different pics now, wouldn't we?

Ok, some answeres for @ardee (deep breath)...

    Booze - Aviation
Caponata - yes it's crack! Coulda eaten a bowl of it!
Chips - pretty mediocre really. Good thing really, as I'm completely stuffed as it is.
Octopus - tasty but over cooked. The cute little potatoes and the pesto were fantastic, though.
Pork chop - in my top two in Vegas (neck and neck with Bardot). Tasty sweet glaze...delicious greens (kale?) served with it.
Caramel Budino...yeah, you hate me...you should :feedme:
Service was friendly but not terribly attentive (and I'm far from needy). Of course, as a solo at the bar, I've come to expect that sort of thing. The hostesses were complete bitches to a group that wanted to switch tables.

Another funny thing. The dude who brought the bread made a huge production about explaining all the different breads included (at least 5, maybe 6 of them). I opened it to find exactly two pieces of bread. Lol. Again, I didn't want to stuff myself on the bread. But it did make me chuckle and roll my eyes.

Oh, someone remind me to steal the pen from the room. I like how it writes, even if it's blue.

While you're at it, you may as well take the colored pencils too, you can color on the plane ride home.

    Taking notes...

    mmmhhhmm..mmhhhmm...scribbling...

Okay, got it. Aviation. Gonna have to look that cocktail up.
Caponata...DELICIOUS stuff but don't tell anybody.
Chips...okay. Bar snack. thought it was a side or something. k'thanks.
Octopussy. Huh! Overdone and limp. nah.
Pork chop looked seriously tender, seasoned well and delish.
Hope to see it (on the menu) in November.
    Caramel....jeepers. You cheater.
    And seriously...
What is the deal with hostesses in Las Vegas?
They're either super sweet and helpful or passive-aggressive pains in the patoots.

Thanks, thecarve. I'm ready to forgive you now. :D

Carve, your food pics are making my 120 day wait until I hit Cosmo for x-mas unbearable. The food you've had this weekend looks absolutely delish. Very good food porn!!!!!!!!!

Well gang, my trip is drawing to a close. I've paid off the markers, packed a bit, set the alarm and filled up the ice bucket for a few final cocktails on the terrace.

And let me tell you, doing my first live TR was more fun than I could have imagined! Being able to interact with you guys, share my experiences and read your words of encouragement was really cool. It definitely helped ease the pain of the atrocious gambling results of this trip!

I did manage to stage a mini-comeback at the 11th hour. I had reached my loss limit for the trip and decided to use the point play I had accumulated. I hit a handful of nice multipliers and a few quads and when the smoke cleared, I had clawed back 25% of the losses (shoulda been 40-45% if not for degeneracy ). Still an ugly trip, gambling-wise. But nice to end on a high-ish note, nonetheless.

I'm sure I'll continue posting through my trip home tomorrow (mostly complaints about flying, I'm sure). And I'll try to do a wrap-up in the next few days once I collect my thoughts and scan through the thread to see if I missed any questions.

But until then, THANK YOU so much for following along and for all your comments, kind words and encouragement. It really did add something to this trip for me.

    You rock, VMB! :nworthy:

I figure it's appropriate to wrap this up with a pic of what will be my last fountain show of '17 (sigh...)

Thanks for a fantastic report. Sorry, the gambling didn't go well but glad you ended up on that highish note. The food and view photos were awesome.

Really enjoyed your live TR - felt ke we were tagging along right beside you. Great sense of humor and thanks for putting up with a little ribbing along the way.

Sorry the gambling wasn't kinder, but the food and entertainment and that view surely outweigh any downside.
I'm sure Badger is impatiently waiting your return!! Thanks for taking us along carve!! :nworthy:
