    Yes, played, stayed, eaten there.

I never seem to win at that casino! Plus they took out many of the machines I like. I do better at Ameristar up the road and they have a better selection of machines.

Hotel is nice, but nothing exceptional.

Buffet is ok, but don't go out of your way for it.

I heard they took out the one steakhouse that I really liked, but I have not confirmed this personally.

    Sports bar was fun.

I've played and stayed there three times this spring and now I receive offers from them almost weekly. The hotel rooms are nice, but not spectacular; they do not have a pool. I put their buffet on par with Harrah's buffet in Las Vegas. The diamond lounge serves a decent buffet selection, but you have to pay for your alcoholic beverages. I ate at their steakhouse once; food was okay, good wait staff. VP paytables are typical CET offerings.....not good. Dealers at the tables were friendly enough and were very happy that I was tipping; I don't think they get a lot of tokes from the locals. Seems that most of the players are smokers....I had to leave a blackjack table one evening because my eyes were burning from the cigarette smoke. The one thing that stands out from my visits is the very pleasant and friendly employees at the hotel and casino. I always received a smile and a "hello" when I walked past one of them. I have two rooms reserved in September. I plan on taking my family down to watch a Twins vs Royals baseball game. The drive from the casino to the ballpark looks like a short one and Harrahs will offer plenty of things to do when we are not at the game. The free room offers, free play, food credits are very attractive, but it is an eight hour drive from where I live and driving through Iowa is not what I would call "scenic".

Have stayed there probably a dozen times or more. Casino is nothing special and, while I have had some nice wins here and there, it can drain your bankroll pretty fast some nights. Rooms are comfortable and pretty well maintained. The new sports bar and grill is actually pretty good. As mentioned, buffet is fine but nothing exceptional. Drinks in the Diamond Lounge are cheaper than inside the casino. And, yes, this is probably the friendliest casino you will ever visit. Everyone you encounter will acknowledge you and say hello or good morning. Easy room, food and free play offers for fairly minimal play. It is best as a one night stay unless you have some other things you plan to do in KC. Most recently spent a whole weekend and that was pushing it.

We are heading to KC the 1st weekend in July just for something different . So, glad this post came up. We will be staying at Harrah's and will be doing the Royals/Twins game. We are driving from MN and will spend the 1st night at Harrah's in Council Bluffs and the next 3 at Harrah's in KC. Heard from my brother, who used to be a semi driver, that the buffet at Ameristar is MUCH better so may have to check that out too. Also looking forward to some KC bbq.

Actually heading to KC right now. Lol. May stop by tonight.

Harrah's NKC is alright, but I like Ameristar better as they have better quarter VP.

But NKC is okay for dollars, tons of 9/5 DDB for dollars including Double STP.

And if you like craft beer, "winning streaks" is pretty good with 2 dozen taps. And you can get the beer to go and bring it in the casino. Might as well for better beer, you gotta pay either way. :(

A commendably generous application of the word "okay." I'm reminded of my apartment being advertised as "convenient" to public transportation. It's a 45-minute walk to the nearest bus stop. :rolleyes2:

I go to KC about once a year to visit friends and family (born and raised) I always stay at Harrahs NKC. Its a fun little casino with great friendly staff, clean updated rooms, good security. The downside is that the casino is a pretty nice walk from the hotel room elevators. Also, outside of the property there is nothing. You have to drive 15 min to be anywhere.
And what is super odd is that drinks cease at 1:45am but thats everywhere it seems in the midwest.
