DH and I did the hotel hop on our first trip to LV----1969 ! We collected ashtrays and boxes of matchbooks ( whole boxes}. Of course in those days you could pack all that to take home on the plane. There were stacks of ashtrays in the ladies room and piles of matchbook boxes. The tote bags were getting pretty heavy so we did divide up the trips over several days. I hadn't thought of that until I read this thread. It gave me a laugh at the memory.

No flip flops, sandals or thongs. I don't care how much you paid for a pedicure. Don't for get to stop at Casino Royals for $1 Michelobs.

Pretty much whatever drink you want is complimentary while playing slots. Some top shelf liquors may not be available unless you're playing in the 'high limit' section of a casino. Many casinos will let you get cappuccino and/or blender drinks (like a pina colada or strawberry daiquiri).

If your'e staying at Treasure Island (TI) take note that there is a tram in the back of the property that connects TI to the Mirage. It will save you a lot of your walking. There is also a tram on the same side of the Strip that connects Bellagio with Crystal Mall and Aria. These save a lot of on-Strip walking, but like the City run monorail, they are located all the way in the back of the properties away from the Strip. Each property is tremendous. They look like they're right close by, but the distances and size of the properties is deceiving.

Running the Strip just to check out each casino floor seems a fools errand. Each casino does have it's own ambience but one nice casino floor after another just kind of blurs into each other. By the end of the day you won't remember one casino from another. What they do have that's worthwhile are their attractions. For instance, Wynn across the street has more marble than Italy in it and is beautiful. Ven/Pal has the Grand Canal and enough Trump-style glitz that it's also great to walk around in. Plan on at least an hour in each of these properties just to take them in with a little time for some gambling. Mirage has the volcano show at night. Harrah's has a really fun outdoor Carnival Bar with live bands and I just love the statue of 'The Cashmans' (cracks me up every time I see it). Bellagio has the fountains that play to music that's awe inspiring as well as an amazing conservatory and an outstanding glass ceiling sculpture in their lobby. Caesars has the mall that makes the most money per square foot of any mall in the US as well as a full scale replica of Michelangelo's 'David'. Well worth seeing unless you plan on being in Florence, Italy soon. Paris has a great Parisian feel to it. Planet Hollywood, Aria, MGM, Mandalay Bay, and the Cosmopolitan all have luxury feel to them as well. NYNY is worth just standing outside and admiring how they made a hotel have such a New York skyline feel to it. Amazing architectural planning.
So, you see, just walking the Strip won't quite do it. You have to investigate what's special about each property and check that out. To do all that in one trip is tough. Plan, always plan, but just kind of go with the flow on the trip and you'll enjoy it a lot more. You can always come back.

What's going to be my easiest way to get back from planet Hollywood to treasure island late night? It looks like it'd be quite the walk so I'm almost thinking an uber?

We tried to do the strip from the MGM to Wynn and up to NYNY, stopping for at least a drink and a gamble in every major spot.
It did not end well, were from Belfast and as such, really good at drinking, we ended up hammered in the wynn and getting taxis back to the MGM for pizza. It wasnt helped by being hungover before we started. :)
I'd say, with hindsight, breaking it into manageable chunks is the best idea and maybe leaving a few spots out.
