People deny it, but I agree with it.

When it gets to be above 90 here in Michigan and the humidity is 100% it can be unbearable.

I think for me, anything over 100 is too hot...

I'm with several other posters from the East Coast, I'll take 110 -115 degree dry heat over a muggy 85 to 90 degrees all day long. You should be drinking a ton of water anyway if you're heading out in the heat.

It was 90 here in Buffalo Saturday. Was at my uncles house helping dad do some electrical work outside before a party this coming weekend and had sweat streaming down my face.

Fortunately, that same day, my brother opened his new in-ground pool. Sat in there for 3 hours, lol...

Vegas is a dry heat and there is a difference. A Vegas 90 is like NY 70.

even when it is 100+ in Vegas, it seems like the pools are ice water. I hate that. it doesn't have to be like soup, but at least tolerable.
    I like the heat.
    I hate cold.

Twenty-five years ago my home base was Tropicana and I would have sworn that their pool water came straight from the bottom of Lake Mead.

I'll be there in a few weeks, at the end of August... & I'm sure it will be "too hot" then... but here's the thing - as a downtown player, my time outside is very limited - just long enough to get from one casino to the next...which is 1 or 2 minutes, and only that long if I have to wait for the Casino Center crosswalk light to turn green, (or if I'm walking to the El-Co).

I can say this, though - for this trip, if I find myself at the Plaza or MSS/Cal, and I want to hit the El-Co, I'll be taking Uber!
(Attn Vegas Uber drivers - have that A/C cranked up to 'max/high' when making pick-ups!)

When is it too hot? American Airlines cancelled several flights out of PHX, the RJ regional jets have an operating limit of 118 Degrees.

Moving from WI, I was shocked that we were golfing in 100+ heat and it wasn't that bad. With a cart of course. We did learn in a hurry to lay off the beer until at least the turn. Water, water, water until the 10th or 11th, or until the beverage cart finally showed up.

It's also different on a grass field than in a concrete heat island

Very true. Days when it is 100+ and you are walking on sidewalks, you can really feel the heat radiating up through your shoes.

We both like cooler temps, so anything over 80 is hot for us. Vegas in November/December is perfect.

I remember being in Vegas, I think it was 2013, and they weren't letting some planes take off for a few hours during the heat of the day (think it was 117 or so outside).
I've been there when it was snowing too....so I guess I've hit both extremes!

    Re hammies' post.

There are a few items in a commercial airliner that don't function as well or could fail due to heat but the primary reason for heat limitations is that the engines have problems generating sufficient (allowable minimum) airspeed for take off lift due to the less dense air.

We always like going to Vegas in the summer just because it's a little cooler there than here:)

I like to go there in July every year to get out of the humidity where I live. Sure, its hot but I can spend more time outside in LV with high heat and low humidity than I can with slightly less heat and much more humidity. I just make sure to drink plenty of water and bring my chapstick.
