I have four Golden Gate $25 match play chips that I am not going to use. These are from the Allegiant Air promotion. I have used these many times in the past but the last time out I lost on all bets so I am swearing them off forever! (or maybe just until my next trip)

I don't have any specific things in mind for a trade so please message me or reply here with a trade offer.

Not to be a party pooper but when I redeemed my $25 matchplay coupon in Feb 2017 from the LVA, Golden Gate double checked my history. First I went to the slot booth to get the actual chip where I'm sure they checked to make sure I hadn't already used my once per year matchplay. Then at the table they held up the game while the pit boss required that I hand over my players card and the pit boss checked in the computer and when everything was okay allowed the game to continue, thereby double checking to make sure I hadn't already played my matchplay for the year. Just be advised that Golden Gate will check your history.

will the GG allow you to use one from LVA and one from ACG?
it sounds like it could get sticky since they can check and see that 4 chips were never issued to you from the Allegiant promotion.

Yes you can use one from each book at the same time. We did this earlier this month.

Re using chips obtained through trade. I can't imagine it would be a problem. I got them from a friend who forgot to use them before leaving town. But I'm using logic and we all know that might not be warranted when talking about casino practices!!

Someone just posted above yours that the floor person checked the player's account at the table. So why can't you imagine it would be a problem?

Why is it illogical for casinos to ensure that the player eligible for the match play is the one who actually uses it?

I guess my imagination is broken.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

The wife used (6) of them at roulette at the end of our week while I stood and watched. I showed my card and ID even though she was the one playing. I don't think they checked history. Did the same thing at the D with two match plays. And at the Plaza with one. All redeemed at the players club first of course. Act like you're married and it's your first time there this year.

I don't think they match them up to your card. They may but I'm not sure it matters to them. I had 4 of the Allegiant ones this past trip plus one ACG for 5 total. When I went to play all 5 the pit asked for my card and I gave it to him. My friend also had the same 5 and he randomly played one at a time betting either red or black on roulette and never game them his card.

PS I feel your pain ref, I lost all 5 of my bets also.

Thanks for adding your experience @Patman, that helps confirm that they are just putting you in for a rating and not checking your eligibility to use a matchplay chip.

They may watch it a more with the ACG and LVA ones as they are one per year, its' easier to tell if you have used the one. But with the Allegiant one and with some of the matchplay we get from GG, it would be hard for them to keep track of what we had and what we have used, especially if we just sat down and brought them out intermittently during the course of play. We've mostly used them with 2 trips but they are the same chip that we got 3 years ago which we could still have.

The ACG and LVA chips we got in April looked exactly the same to me. I'm sure the Allegiant ones look the same as those. They wouldn't have different kinds of chips for different sources, would they? Once again, I can't imagine it. OOPS, there I go using my faulty imagination again! LOL.

    Thanks again for the updates.

and of course, sometimes it may just depend on the supervisor on duty. are they having a bad day? are their control issues flaring up?

It could be as vegasdev mentioned that it depends on the supervisor on duty that day. When I sat down at the roulette table the dealer called over the supervisor who asked for my players card. I told him that I only intended to play the $25 matchplay and leave. He said it didn't matter but he still would need my player's card. So I gave him my player's card. I also mentioned that I didn't want to be rated but he still said that if I wanted to use the $25 matchplay I would need to present my player's card so I gave him my player's card. I got the impression that the supervisor checked in the computer to make sure that I got the $25 matchplay legitimately rather than off the streets something like how this thread is going. I knew I was good for the year so I didn't sweat it but if I used something like this Allegiant matchplay and the supervisor checked and found out that I didn't register for the matchplay at the slot club booth I would be sweating. The supervisor could deny its use if in fact it was not registered in my name.

On the other hand if I had legitimately registered for the Allegiant matchplays and have four $25 matchplays to use under my name then I wouldn't sweat it because all four $25 matchplays would already be under my name.

I was at GG last month at the craps table when another player came to the table and played match play chips. The pit requested his players card and he told the pit nope, not getting my card because you should know me. After a bit of unpleasant bantering back and forth he stayed without ever giving up his players card.

Hello. The match play chips are no longer available for trade.
It never occurred to me that a person may not be able to use these if they were given to someone else. When you go to the player's club desk and give them your ID and boarding pass they give you two $25 match play chips, although the promo states a $50 match play. I have used more than one of these a year, at least I think so, and they never told me I couldn't use them a second time. However, I also don't recall having to use my players club card either. My wife and I normally just use the 2 match plays and then leave the table so I never bothered to give them my card.
Like most things in Vegas it seems to depend on who you get at the time.
