    My Trip Report

Just me and my cousin this time for lots of cigars and single malt scotch.

Probably not much gambling since my cousin rarely does. Although I did get him to the craps table last time, so maybe there will be some.

    Cigar sneak preview.

Wanted to stop in at the Alaska Airlines Board room, but they told me at the desk that Priority Pass no longer gives one free guest pass, as of May 1.

So walked out rather than leave my cousin standing outside.

Really annoyed with that new restriction. Basically makes the pass worthless when you're traveling with someone.

Departure out of Portland. Mount Hood (about 11,000 feet) should be off the wing tip, but the clouds were so thick today, they topped the mountain!

Something about the old terminal baggage claim that I love. Just reminds me of the many times arriving here and the excitement seems to hit you here as you wait for your bag.

Now off to Total Wine to grab a good bottle of single malt.

The High Roller section at Total Wine is quite a sight to see.

Settled on Macallan Edition No 1. A bit more in my price range than the previous options.

Early lunch at Big B's. First time here.

It did not disappoint! This guy really knows how to get the smoke flavor into the meat.

Had the three meat plate: brisket, tri tip, and pork ribs. Could not even get close to finishing. Almost needed to be hauled out in a wheelbarrow.

Talked to the owner a bit. He talked about how he's particular about the wood. He actually goes out to Texas and buys mesquite from a particular area of the state, and hauls it back himself.

First cigar at Le Central at Paris is a Cohiba Siglo III.

Bet the money line on the Nationals in the second game and the Astros. $100 each. -200 on the Nats because Scherzer is pitching but he's such an ace. Astros are +105 but Morton has been so good this year and his heavy sinker should play well against the Yankees lineup.

Didn't get a picture of it, but hit four deuces at the Caesars sports book bar for $1000.

Gave the bartender a big tip because I have him to thank for it. We were about to leave but the bartender brought us two more Ballast Point Sculpins. So sat there for a little while longer and hit the four deuces shortly after!

Now at the Montecristo cigar bar at Caesars. Got the coveted center table in The Courtyard area in back. Can watch the Yankees Astros while we have a Montecristo Churchill AƱejados.

The frequency of my updates could be inversely proportional to the number of drinks tonight.

Or it could be I'm enjoying the perfect weather out on the Rhumbar patio and just too relaxed to post. Forgive me. I'll buy you a fancy pinky-out drink here if you forgive me.

I totally agree with you about baggage claim- there is something
about that I just love - makes me feel excited I have arrived! And - I
certainly don't get excited about baggage claim anywhere else LOL.

I should meet this guy - he can haul all the mesquite he wants off of my farm. Would love for
someone to come cut it all down for free. I'd give it to him.
That looks good. Enjoying all your pictures.

Those Cohibas look tasty. Does the Montecristo bar charge you a cutting fee?

Cuba has been cranking out some fantastic Cohiba lately. They have been worth the extra coin it takes to get them!

Never had them say anything about a cutting fee. And I find that at most places, if you order drinks there, they'll never bat an eye to you bringing your own sticks.

Did Gordon Ramsay Burger for lunch. For some reason, I noticed they changed the name from BurGR to Burger.
