For years, I would judge a restaurant on whether or not they had taken the time to brew up fresh, strong iced tea. Seemed like a simple way to judge whether or not they attended to the little details. Along those lines, it seems to me as someone with fairly frequent tummy issues, particularly when on vacation, that the TP almost everywhere I have stayed in Vegas is still of the awful, industrial variety. Fancy soaps and lotions are great but I would prefer my paper products be softer than sandpaper. So anyone else in this boat? Do you remember staying somewhere with premium bath tissue? I'd be inclined to patronize such an establishment. I thank you and my bum thanks you!
I was going to mention that. But I would think the higher tier the resort is (Wynn, V/P, Caesars, etc.) the better the quality of their toiletries.
I always bring my own TP. I stay at Caesars and their TP is better than some, but still not as good as what I buy at home. I always get a laugh from a friend who was born in the USSR. She tells me" toilet paper, we had not toilet paper". We're so spoiled.
From a Vegas perspective, my impression of a buffet is often made or broken depending on if they offer tasty scrambled eggs for breakfast. It's such an easy dish to do, even in quantity, but does need some attention to detail. I've found more often than not if the eggs are good, most of the buffet will be and vice versa. I don't pay attention to toilet tissue very much, except when it's not there! No excuse for that! What does annoy me are restroom items that do not work! Soap dispensers, auto faucets, towel dispensers. (Door locks!) Many places do not check these frequently.
I've never run into high-quality TP in Vegas... but, at the Choice Suites near DFW, they use Charmin', and it's very noticeable! (They also have ceiling fans over the bed! )
Before the cost cutting sweeping the strip, you would notice more premium TP along with nicer linens and even though the stuff in the mid range hotels wasn't 'cushioned" it was acceptable. Now the trend is to standardize with cheap stuff no matter what they charge for the room. Investing in some travel size packs of flushable wipes may not be a bad idea these days.
I only use scott tissues so its pretty much industrial strength as it is. Thats how I roll. I also dont drink iced tea. I also only blow my nose into paper towels. never anything else. Gives you enough surface space to really let her go.
I was thinking back to the tales my parents used to tell about using newspapers and old catalogs for necessary wiping. Apparently store-bought TP was quote the luxury in that generation.
Personally, I find that a little friction does a better clean-job. However, I also try not to be too far from flush-able wipes...
I've heard of people actually packing their favorite TP when going to Vegas. I guess "Never leave home without it" is not just a credit card slogan anymore!
High class joints fold the last square into a triangle and put on a gold sticker to hold it down. I'm sure someone on here will bitch that the sticker got stuck in their ass crack.
