I know some of you folks have a shorter flight to Vegas...so this could be interesting. I cannot sleep on the plan for the life of me, so I'm stuck with either the in-flight entertainment or watching movies on my tablet. The flight is roughly 5-6 hours depending on whether I'm going to Vegas or departing. So, I generally will have either 2 or 3 movies on my tablet. Some of my go-to movies are:

    1. Redeye
    2. Executive Decision
    3. Home Alone
    4. Con Air
    5. Air Force One
    6. Fast Five
    7. Passenger 57
    8. Top Gun
    9. The Rock
    10. The Firm

    What's yours? :evillaugh:

P.S.-I know someone will chime in with Snakes On A Plane

Currently on my tablet for a trip:
    Oceans 11
    Oceans 13
    Vegas Vacation
    Star Wars: The Force Awakens

but typically I'll watch whatever might be playing on the in flight entertainment system.

Holy crap. What tablet do you use?

    My
    My two favorite scenes....

When they prepare for landing and they show the parade of emergency vehicles. Police cars, EMS, fire trucks, Budweiser....

.....and when Barbara Billingsley (June Cleaver from Leave it to Beaver) starts speaking in "Jive" to the black guys

My flight is also 5-6 hours. I also just recently discovered that Amazon Prime Video now has a ton of HBO shows and it even lets you download content to your tablet or phone for free, so between that and Netflix I tend to load up the iPad before any flight now:

    • Vegas-themes movies: Vegas Vacation, Go, Ocean's 11
    • Other newer movies that have hit Netflix/Amazon: Recent examples include The Gambler and The BFG
    • TV Shows: That 70's Show and Malcolm in the Middle are two great, easy shows for plane rides
    • Also I try to download at least one stand-up comedy special from Netflix. If you're ok with edgy humor Bill Burr's newest special was great!

We always have movies on the Ipad. And a splitter for headphones. Netflix lets you download some movies now for offline viewing. Amazon Prime as well.

As to favorites... they are hundreds of thousands of movies and tv shows available. Guessing we all have varied tastes. We mix in some movies and tv shows - some new, some old depending on the mood and flight time left.

I only started being ok with flying last year - have taken a plane maybe 6 times total? I still opt to drive from NY to Chicago / Boston - anything < 10 hour drive - the usual your 40k feet in the air; if anything happens, your basically screwed, etc... (yes, I know it's safer then driving)

that said - everything is loaded up - phone with more than enough music I haven't listened to yet; laptop with work to do; movies on iPad; games on iPad (solitaire, puzzles, etc...) basically anything to keep me distracted for the 4-5 hours.

That and 2 glasses of red wine as soon as they start serving and I'm "ok" - the flight to LV from NY always seems to be turbulent :( so my wife's hand is usually pretty soar from my clenching it for the flight, lol...

My favorite to watch on the plane is From Paris with Love - John Travolta and Johnathan Rhys Meyers. I'm not that much of a Travolta fan but I really like him in this movie- action packed CIA movie.

Air Force One wasn't THAT good to be on the list twice.

MKE to LAS is about a 3-1/2 hour flight, so I take a TV series on DVD to watch on the plane. It took about 3 years, but I just completed Treme on my last flight. Trying to decide if I am going to bring Greg the Bunny, Men of a Certain Age or The Sopranos with me. Leaning against the Sopranos as it would take years to complete if I only watch it during air travel.

Oh man. The Sopranos is probably my favorite show of all time. Your mileage may vary here, but if you start watching it for the first time on the plane you may end up spending time watching the Ipad in your hotel room instead of enjoying Las Vegas!

Years ago I bought a portable dvd player $89. I also bought some software to copy DVDs. I just rent movies at Redbox and use the software to copy them to my flashdrive and then use the flash on the dvd player. I have actually never used the dvd player function. So the movies on the plane are usually current comedies available at Redbox. Office Christmas Party is the last one I copied.

In case we hate a movie, my standbys are Good Fellas, Hangover 1 & 2 and all 3 Godfather movies.

I always have a couple of movies on my Kindle for us to watch on the flight there and back. While Vegas Vacation is the obvious choice we usually pick a couple of movies we haven't seen yet. Preferable comedies. Like Joe I have a couple of backups in case the chosen movie sucks. Casino would be good but it's 3 hours and we're a 3.5 hour flight so that gets tight. Goodfellas is ALWAYS an option for us.

its an old original samsung note 10.1...I only bought it to use in my car to control music when I had my huge stereo, wont skip...but the HDMI cable for this model is rare, expensive and they dont last long so I took it out...its funny that when im not using on a flight, it doubles as a mouse pad for my wireless mouse as I have my computer hooked to my 60" tv and I control it from my bed...great use of 500+ $$$ lol

i was surprised that the 500+gb car actually worked as some things will not work if the car is too big or bigger than they recommend

War Dogs is a recent 2-hour movie to consider that has a Las Vegas component to it.

I haven't heard of this one. I like Miles Teller (from Whiplash), I'll have to give this a shot.
