    WITHOUT USING GOOGLE!

For the first phase of this, how about just posting the number of matches that you find. If you post names, it will ruin the pursuit for others as they stumble onto this. After a week or two, I'll post asking for people to post their lists.

The challenge is this, how many Las Vegas Area casinos (present and ones that have existed over the last 25 years), have the same name as an automobile model name (sold in the USA over the last 25 years). By "area" I mean this is not limited to the Las Vegas borders, but any casino in the LV area, say a 20 mile radius. This challenge includes any cars, SUVs, and trucks sold to the general public in the USA. I am EXCLUDING car trim levels from this. For instance, the Jeep Wrangler Sahara is a trim level, not a model name.

Other rules: You can take a word or words off the casino name, but use the entire car model name (newly clarified rule). For instance, "The Palms" is the official name of the Palms casino. If there were a car model called Palms, then this would qualify, as you can omit the "The" from the name.

FYI, the Thunderbird was closed in 1976, too old according to the rules of this challenge.

Let's not post the names until everyone that wants to try, posts the number that they found.

For now, JUST POST THE NUMBER OF MATCHES YOU HAVE FOUND.

Does a PT Cruiser count for all of those thousand PT's around the area?

No, but that is very creative! We are looking to match the entire name of the car model with at least part of the casino name. I'll update the rules with that.

Same with PT. The casino would have to be named PT Cruiser.

I count at least 11, and I'm not really a car fan. (I am quite familiar with the general topics of branding and promotion, however.)

Well, I asked a day ago and nobody said not to post them yet, so here's my list ...

First, kinda going clockwise around the Strip.

    SLS
    Riviera
    Encore
    Imperial (Palace)

Going back and forth on Flamingo ...

    Maxim
    Rio
    Continental

    Continuing with the Strip ...

    New York(er)
    Monte Carlo
    Cosmopolitan
    Mirage

    Now going off Strip ...

    Santa Fe
    Fiesta

    And a brief visit to Hender-Tucky. :) :)

    Eldorado
    Wildfire

I know I missed Frontier and Excalibur. I honestly did not remember them.

    Oh really?

I guess the bold face two times in the header post wasn't clear enough?

" just posting the number of matches that you find. If you post names, it will ruin the pursuit for others as they stumble onto this. After a week or two, I'll post asking for people to post their lists.....

Now anyone reading this thread for the first time will see the answers, and not get a chance to think this out themselves! Sigh!

I apologize to anyone who wanted to give this a try and couldn't because they saw some of the posted answers.
