My wife really enjoys eating breakfast on the patio area of Bouchon--I think primarily because she likes being able to eat breakfast outside to enjoy the weather. I am thinking about changing it up and doing breakfast on the patio outside at MAG.

Am I correct in assuming it will be a similar experience (with better people watching)? Any recommendations for food/drink orders or seating preferences at MAG (keeping in mind we want to be outside)? Or should be we just stick to Bouchon?

    Thanks!

MAG is also good with better people watching. Also you get to watch the fountain.

Really you can't go wrong with either.

I'm not sure it's on the brunch menu but I like the steak frites with the pepper sauce.

Keep in mind for MAG outside seating may require a longer wait.

Tableau also has outside seating and I consider it comparable foodwise.

Use OpenTable to reserve a table at MAG and put "outside seating" in the special instructions. I was there a few weeks ago and had Salmon Eggs Benedict that was a great way to start the day. Enjoy!

You've eaten at Bouchon. Try MAG and then you can decide which you like better.

Sometimes I use Opentable to make reservations when I'm standing outside the restaurant. 100 points minimum in most cases. 1000 points gets you a $10 credit. #TravelHack

We have eaten at Bouchon, MAG and Tableu (spelling?). All three are amazing! But for different reasons. You cannot say one is best because each have their positives and different positives (I cant find any negatives. lol).

1.Bouchon is so consistent in the their food quality and we like their food the best.
2.MAG has the best people watching and patio seating of all three.
3.Tableu is elegant and the ambiance is wonderful, top notch service.

We usually try to eat at all three in the order above! And then maybe a second breakfast at Bouchon on day 4. LOL!

Yep. I use Open Table whenever I travel and it works very well. I use it a lot for MAG, I even made Thanksgiving reservations there and it was very smooth.

Give Mon Ami Gabi a try. I was just there Wednesday morning. The service and food cant be beat, and of course the view. We opted for a table inside with the view, with no problem at all. Street performers were parked directly in front doing their thing otherwise we would have asked for a table outside. Really wasn't in the mood for reggae at 9am while brunching.

Am I really confused here? I'm pretty sure the patio area of Bouchon is not outside. They make it seem like it's outside with trees and bushes and there's a swimming pool but there's also a roof over your head isn't there? I ate breakfast out there one time. Fantastic food, great environment.

I enjoy the heck out of MAG on the patio for breakfast. The food, service, and outdoor seating (in the bar area just outside the dining room or the actual patio) is very good. We usually eat there twice during our 4 day stays.

IIRC Bouchon outdoor dining was an open area when I was in June but you're surrounded by the hotel for the most part so you feel crowded in with nothing to see but the pool beyond the foliage. However; nothing can top the Beignet's at Bouchon!
