Off-strip non-casino hotel and getting around

Will be in Vegas for business in a couple of weeks and my great company policy won't let be book hotels which charge deposits, so my choices were limited to basically 2 company "approved" hotels, the Marriott near the convention center or the Renaissance.
Are either of these walkable to the strip at night (distance and safety wise). I'm flying solo on this one...

I'll have a car but that will be relegated to day driving as some beer may or may not come into play at night and would rather not have to do uber all the time.

Do you have to book through company travel agencies?

If not, book a strip hotel on your own. YOU are the one doing the deposit - which they often never even charge anyways. But, if you noshow, they charge you. If you just submit the final bill for reimbursement when you are done.

Then again, if you are required to use company APPROVED hotels (vs deposit policy),then you are stuck.

By the way, COSMO is part of the Marriott chain.

I'm not sure what the walk is like at night but the monorail station looks to be close to those hotels.

 

Would be a cheap Uber ride.

LOL, as I've said before, make friends with your corporate travel people. They will often have a lot of wiggle-room as far as policies go. A couple of years ago I was actually able to get a "hard and fast" travel policy changed. (They would not pay for covered parking at the airport in snowy weather, but they would pay for taxi to and from the airport, which in my case is far more expensive.)

 

what about the marriot by Planet Hollywood and Elara

also taking lyft is very cheap like 5$ to the strip now so u will be fine also u can walk durring the day

i would use lyft instead of the monorail almost the same cost now

 

Unfortunately our policy is housed somewhere within a large organization...but I did some more searching today and was able to ge the Marriott Grand Chateau right next to planet hollywood. this should work better for me so I can walk everywhere. I'll still need a car and am not too thrilled they only do valet, but it's still complimentary.

Only 12 days to go...

why do u still need a retal car,why not use lyft or uber or self park in ph mall across the street while its still free

 

Thanks for that. it had not come up with a general search through my travel, had to filter out just Marriott and it worked.

Not exactly sure why I need a car. I need to get to places for work Monday - thursday. I'd rather rely on me over uber/lyft. And if I do get some free time would love to try and get to see hoover dam or something else.
