We are heading out for my wife's birthday next month and she has specifically requested a seafood restaurant for her birthday meal. What is the best seafood restaurant in Vegas that you have experienced? I would prefer to dine at a M-Life restaurant, but I am open to other suggestions as well. She also mentioned getting a seafood tower to start the meal, so any feedback related to especially good/unique seafood towers would also be helpful. Price really isn't an issue (although Joel Robuchon is not under consideration) Thanks!

My favorite is Emeril's at the MGM Grand.

I would go with Michael Mina at Bellagio. Price wise, its one step down from Rubochon. The food is fantastic. never had a bad meal there

So, does it have to be a seafood restaurant, or a place that serves good seafood? Two different answers.

As to seafood tower. I see those often and wonder how folks can then order a full meal too. Seems like I saw a real nice one at Prime/Bellagio. But that is a steakhouse - with some great fish options.

Edit - just checked their menu - tower not listed.

I wonder if you're thinking of FIX at Bellagio? I was eating there at the bar last week and two guys next to me had the small version of the tower - there's also a medium and large - and it was pretty good sized. Agree on wondering how you could eat anything else after that.

Not sure if Fix has a seafood tower, but generally speaking, I don't find Fix to be very good. Haven't had very good experiences there.

It varies by restaurant, but usually a number of different items served in a tower - usually to be shared by the table. Here is the description from Fix:
    • CHILLED ULTIMATE SHELL FIX*
Maine Lobster, Tiger Prawns, King Crab, East/West Coast Oysters

    • Here are some images- though some are for a large group

Thanks to those that have provided feedback. To answer some of the questions, it doesn't need to be strictly a seafood joint, as long as it has multiple seafood options for apps and entrees. I am leaning towards Michael Mina at the Bellagio. We enjoyed his other restaurant at MGM before it closed (Seablue I think?) and the menu at MM looks fantastic (has a seafood tower as well).

Fix was mentioned above with a difference of opinions. We had a very nice meal at FIX last year. The chili fries was one of the most interesting appetizers I've ever eaten (would have never ordered it but the server insisted).

Seablue was the best! Was my favorite restaurant in Vegas til it closed. MM is different, but also very good

Michael Mina was excellent. Had the tasting menu and wine pairing. Total bill for 2 with tip was $567.

That still seems high for a tasting menu at MM! I guess depending on what food and brand of wine you were tasting. Lol I hate to sound cheap but the Oyster Bar at Harrahs has the best seafood tower. Aqua Knox at Venetian also has some great seafood dishes and much lower costs for 2 than MM.

I ate there once and was really disappointed. The food simply was not good.
