    My Trip Report

Hello Everyone. I will attempt to write my first trip report on this board. I thought of writing a trip report long time ago but never followed up. I have been following the trip reports on this board and enjoying them. It was time to give back to the other members on the board, who do fabulous trip reports.

    Plan for the trip:
Saturday afternoon - Travel to the Lakes Region, NH with family and visit Ahern State Park. Check-in into the hotel in the area. Check out the local casino - Lakes Region Casino in Belmont, NH and play craps. Add a $1 chip to my collection. This is my new hobby since I started following the board.

Sunday: Visit Ice Castles in Lincoln, NH and then head back home to CT.

The drive from my house to the Lakes region is about 3 hours.

Bankroll for the casino visit: $400 though the actual use maybe quite less

    Trip:

The weather was good, sunny and about 51 F on Saturday.

The drive time was about 3 hours from my place in CT. Stopped for Lunch in Shrewsbury, MA at an Indian restaurant. Ordered some dosas(rice crepe) for lunch. Food was good and the owner courteous.

There was not too much of traffic along the way and we reached the Ahern State park per the planned arrival time.

The Winnisquam lake was completely frozen and it was a cool experience to stand on a frozen lake. We clicked a few pictures and then checked into a hotel in the region. After settling in, it was time for me to explore the local casino.

The casino is located in Belmont, NH. Since it was later in the evening, the highway leading to the casino was dark with very few vehicles along the way. There were about 10-12 cars parked in the small parking lot of the casino. The casino is housed in a small building.

There is 1 craps table, 1 roulette table, 1 poker table and 2 blackjack tables. The craps table was empty with no-one manning it. I walked in and asked one of the dealers if the craps table is open. The dealer then signaled to another dealer sitting on an empty table. The dealer from the empty table walked to the craps table, passed on the dice to me and off we go. I was the only one at the craps table. There was just one person who doubled up as a stick-man and the dealer.

I had a few rolls to satisfy my gambling urge. Hit 4 points on one of the rolls, but sadly, no pressing of bets allowed(max being $4) or firebets to capitalize the long rolls.

The minimum bet on the Passline/Don't pass and the place bets is $2 with maximum bet being $4. A max of $4 in odds is allowed. The field and prop bets have a min of $1 and a max of $4.

    The payouts were as follows.

I bought in for $100 and about 10 min later was up $26 after tipping the dealers.

The chips that they have is $4, $2 and $1. They give $25 chips while coloring out.

    Added to my collection:

The poker table was the only table that was full and had locals. They had only 1 poker table and 2 folks had their name written on the waiting list in the time I was there.

It is a charitable gaming location and not a true casino. But I like visiting new casinos and adding to my chip collection. So, Lakes Region casino - check.

Visited the Ice castles, next day and it was worth the visit especially if you have kids. Drive home was uneventful and per the plan. Looking forward to my next casino trip.

Am I reading that right? They are giving you 5 to 4 odds on the 6/8 if you put $4 worth in odds down? I don't think I have ever seen a positive table game bet posted before...:hmmm:

The picture is not very clear, but the odds are 5:4 for 6 and 8 for the $4 odds bet
