Hello everyone i just wanted to share my First Royal. I hit it sitting at the mardi gras bar watching some football on Sunday in the Orleans. This was only the second trip since i started to play VP i usually stick to the tables but it is safe to say that i will defiantly be making some time from now on for some of the Bar tops.

Congrats, it still amazes me the amount of Royals people are getting when I'm still 0 for lifetime :'(
Think maybe the VP gods will allow me multiple ones for my first. [emoji106]

Congratulations! The first royal is such a thrill for everyone. I wish you many more but promise that none will be as memorable to you as this first one. I’ve played VP for 20 years and have hit many times but to be honest, the only one I have a vivid memory of is that 2:00am hit at the old Battle Bar at Treasure Island back when the skull and swords still appeared on their marquee. My wife and I along with the bartenders, Larry and Rick, celebrated for an hour. LOL Now, go get another!

Could be worse..... Typically always play $.25 max bet for a $1,000 royal. I was down on money & decided to just milk some time in the casino playing $.05 max bet & hit my one and only royal.

I was excited, but more pissed that I wasn't playing $.25 max bet.... especially since 98% of the time that's what I play......

    Congrats.
We've had several dozen, the last 20 years. But yours is way better than our first one. Wife was playing FP Jacks at The STRAT . But only playing a quarter a hand. We both went nuts, until we saw the $63 jump. Janitor nearby just smiled and shook his head.

    nice!
I think over the last 8 years, not counting spin poker (as its easy to get 3 on there, at a time) I think I'm close to 96 royals (wow, one a month? haha

You were constantly in Reno for awhile right? lol Have enough volume and a Royal a month on average isn't unheard of. And you've kept a decent pace for this year as well as have I. But hoping I can crack my lifetime quarter royal drought in Tunica this weekend. And do this of course. :drunk:

    Great hit tubbyrob!

Thanks for the well wishes. Yup it was definitely exciting so exciting that i forgot about the promotion going on at the Orleans called "Loyal to the Royal" i was supposed to hit the Service button and someone would come over and verify my hand and i would win some bonus slot dollars through the Bconnected desk. Well i was in so much shock that for a while i just looked around in disbelief on the inside i was going crazy i wanted to shout out to the world but on the outside i was trying to play it cool like it wasn't my first rodeo. I flagged down the bartender and asked him for some Glenlivet straight up he replied i can't comp that though i said "No worries i'll pay for it I'm celebrating" He came back with my drink and i gave him a $20. He walked away and then returned and said that he was given the OK to comp it for me. Don't know by who or for what reason but i was like this is my lucky day i told him if he could break the $20 for me for tips then when he came back i just decided to stuff all the change in the tip jar and share the wealth. Extra karma points never hurt anybody

It's not too uncommon to tip bartenders for Royals. If it's someone I'm familiar with, I'll definitely be giving a $20 as well. Hell, still may give a $20 regardless. As you say, karma.

I'm a Royal Flush Truther as well. These are all lies!

Someone has to be on the sad end of the distribution curve to make up for everyone on the other end... I'm right there with you!

About a year ago my hubby hit a RF at the Gold Strike in Tunica while I was in the room resting. I went down to congratulate him and decided I needed a drink so went to the bar and hit a RF on my second hand. The only time we've ever both hit a RF on the same day. Good luck!

My first and only Royal came when I really had 0 clue what they really were. I was on a work trip at age 23 and had never been to Vegas or Reno. My work sent me to Fernley NV and while at dinner a group of us decide to "gamble" we each say ok lets each put $20 in a machine and if we win more than $100 lets split it. I went and found a VP machine because I can understand those more than slots at the time. 3rd or 4th hand was dealt 4 to royal, held them and the Q of Spades came out giving me the royal. I was only betting $1 so won $250. My coworkers see me win and are excited as I spilt the winnings with them as we promised. We still talk about this to this day. Since then I have been hooked and play it as often as possible and never hit it again. I hope this changes on my next trip to the promise land.
