Let me start out by saying that I'm primarily an Mlife patron. I've gotten weekday offers from CET before except for Caesar's and Cromwell but have never booked or stayed at a CET property yet. When looking before, it always seems to be hit and miss if the offer is applied and for which days so I never really bothered to check it out further. This despite the fact that the calendar for that particular room shows the offer is available. The offer I just got today has me interested but I am running into the same problem. But when I get a trip price is won't give me the offer and charges me for each night. I realize it says "restrictions may apply". I did manage to find some days at Bally's where the offer did work, but again not all days even when it says it would. Am I doing something wrong? It's ridiculous that I would have to just keep trying different dates, properties and rooms to find something that i can apply this offer to. Are they just trying to make me call them by making the calendar totally useless? Thanks.
If you're not being allowed to book, then it typically means that the hotel is "sold out" in the system for your level of comp (that promotion) for those dates. I see that you tried another hotel and it worked, which supports my theory. That plus the fact that you are not a "regular" CET customer.
Yeah, I assumed the room was booked for my level. I just would have thought the calendar would show that so that i don't have to do it by trial and error. Especially since some nights it does show as not available. I only tried the two hotels so far, but even Bally's shows me some nights as available but then won't let me book them with the comp. Just wondering if this is just me or if the system is designed poorly.
It's kind of a bug in their system when offers are loaded. As DaiLun said, normally if they have used up all the allocated rooms for that offer for your play level, it will display SOLD OUT. If it doesn't display SOLD OUT, but it doesn't allow you to book, then it could be that one or more of the nights is priced higher than what they're willing to comp you under the offer. You can try this: It doesn't necessarily look like the offer you booked has any throw ins like freeplay or resort credit. But if there ARE throw ins, sometimes the throw ins make the difference in whether or not you can get a room comped on a certain night. Try stripping off the offer code and just going to the availability calendar and looking at those dates. If one of them shows a price instead of COMP, then that's the issue. Technically the offer is available on that night (because it is not sold out), however, that particular night is not available to you and they don't have a way of indicating that. If they all show COMP, then the issue could be that the throw ins from the offer are pushing the total comp value past the point they want to give you. So it's your choice to book the room without using the offer. Their system can be very price sensitive. I've had times I can book an offer with throw ins for room type X non-smoking, but not room type X smoking, because the smoking room is priced $5 more a night.

This is from low-moderate play but 99% at table games ( i don't usually get freeplay from mlife either but I do get RC) I think i will try to call them and maybe they can fit a square peg in a round hole by giving me 3 or 4 nights on nights I want against the price of 5 they are offering.
I've ran into the same issues before trying to book an offer. I usually go thru a host but sometimes I don't want to bother my host I'll book a room with offer myself. I've had to play around with offers by trial and error from mix & matching different rooms to different to casinos for the offer to work. Some people have mentioned that the offer may be "sold out" or just not available no more. I used to believe that to but someone else had mentioned about calling. Out of the 4 times I called to book a room offer, 3 times I was able to it. Even though it shows not available on the TR website, the rep on the phone showed it available for the offer I wanted. So it doesn't hurt to call and have the verify.
How does the regular availability calendar price your nights at Caesars if you try to book it? I think there's a similar issue you might run into. For example, if I look at the calendar for Caesars, every night in a month might display COMP. But I know they won;t give me more than 5. So if I try to book 7, they start charging me on the 6th night. There's another example where one night in the middle of a string might display a price instead of COMP. And then finally, an example where every night displays COMP, so they're saying on any single night, I could get a room comped, but there's an underlying calculation that says they're only willing to comp me $X total. So if I try to book 5 nights, they'll only comp the first 3. So I think they do 2 calcs: One is the maximum rate they're willing to comp you for a single night during your stay Two is the maximum total for an entire stay I'd agree that if you can't get it to work online, calling might do it if you get the right person who knows how to juggle things.
That seems like the case. Even though it doesn't restrict it, I haven't been able to configure anything for a weekend. I know I'm still a low roller for CET purposes. I did find some 4 day combinations of hotel and days that work. Some that give me a combination of free and paid days and some that just don't seem to give me anything. The days show up as "offer available" days, not comp days (which is how it shows for me for Mlife) Sounds like maybe it I give CET some more of my play it will work more like what I see with Mlife. I also thought maybe it was a combination of $xx/day and $xxx total, but even that wasn't consistent. I did a test over a few 3 day bookings for PH, one where all days were free compared to a $296 cost by booking just through TR, one where I got one day free and had to pay for two and that only resulted in about a $50 savings, and one where I didn't get any free days, and in this case I actually would have had to pay more using this offer. Looks like I'll just have to try different combinations and/or call. Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm not a High Roller for Mlife either but I can mostly get pretty much any 3-4 day bookings. i just need this for the moment to cover off that 72 hour between consecutive comp bookings rule.
I have had problems with offer codes sticking or showing invalid for periods or sold out. What I have found is the room selection drives whether an offer code is applied. Typically I will use the monthly calendar flexible days across all Vegas properties to see if it even shows comped days on the monthly calendar. Then I will zero in on property and click thru all the room types to see what is offered as a comp. This formula usually works well. Keep in mind a percentage of room inventory is offered as comps, so the further you book out the better you are. My advice would be to book multiple tentative dates trips as soon as offers come out. This reserving your place in line helps. You can always cancel within the period.
If you are using CET offers, I would just call reservations. But also just check the rate calendar without an offer, especially if the offers don't include something else (free play, resort credit, etc)
This is a good point I forgot to mention. For some reason, when I'm logged in and select an offer and I go to certain properties, it loads a suite by default, and shows OFFER NOT VALID FOR THIS MONTH" or something like that. It took me a couple of tries before I realized what was going on. No idea why it does that.
I've had the same thing happen before about 2-3 times. It took me a while to realize it too. Thought it was just me. Like Funk also mentioned, you can play around with rooms with the offers. Don't assume just cause the offer was not valid for a lower end room, that it won't be valid for a better or nicer room. Perfect example when I try to book a FP offer with Caesars last year, I tried selecting the Octavius tower room but it wouldn't allow me, then I tried Palace and Forum towers, also no luck. When I got to NOBU, it worked perfectly fine. I assume it has to do with the inventory or the number of specific rooms tied with the offer.
As said before, try booking WITHOUT any offer codes. Also, try one night at a time to see where the "bad" night be causing trouble. Do not actually BOOK single nights,, just start one to see where the issue is.
