The Westgate took a 8% cut of the monies from the entries. Was at the Westgate in August the future odds on Nfl and other sports was a joke.It was a Sunday at 5pm an August when I was there and it felt like a Tuesday morning nobody was there.

Any update on this? If anyone has been there this year, please provide a short review. I prefer the NFL party in the Stratosphere theater, but there was no mention of it on facebook, but they were touting the updated sports book. That seems odd to me, so I'm not even sure they're doing it anymore.

Havent been out during the season yet. Apparently other places are offering a pay option to watch NFL

The trend is a bad one and the nickle and diming from the "new " Vegas continues

Looks like it is $5 entry fee which includes first drink. Not sure what the "phenomenal food and drink specials" are...

In the past, I have preferred football watching at Westgate over Stratosphere when I'm solo (feel guilty taking a table at Strat) - I need to decide whether my annoyance at the fee is worth finding somewhere new to watch (and rebooking my Saturday/Sunday stay away from Westgate) when I'm there in two weeks. I really, really hate fees!

Thanks for the link Eliza. It looks like the Stratosphere is only doing March Madness parties, so I'll be back at Westgate.

From what I remember, the food and drink specials weren't that special, but that was probably over five years ago. At least you get a drink with the $5 entry fee. I'm fine with paying that if it helps to keep the theater from being over crowded.

Please let me know if you come across any new viewing parties that have popped up this year (on Saturday or Sunday).

I don't know if they are new this year -- but I also found a couple other Sunday packages that seemed potentially interesting (though I'll probably still stick with Westgate - love the set up):
    • The $75 Caesars option @IxAccDnf noted above includes a reserved lower level seat and unlimited miller light and coors light
    • All American at Rio has a $50 option that includes a three hour open bar, unlimited wings, fries, and soft drinks
    • Toby Keith at Harrah's does a $25 unlimited draft special from 11:30-4
    • Rockhouse at Venetian does a $100 open bar with one app (too rich for my blood)
CET published a list of all of their football specials here: http://blog.caesars.com/las-vegas/las-vegas-restaurant/where-to-watch-football-in-las-vegas/

Thanks for sharing that list... I've been trying in vain to find a guide for 2016 NFL Sunday bar specials in Vegas. Everything is so outdated.

The Toby Keith's $25 bottomless beers... damn, that's tempting for the late games. I've never been there before, though, so I'm not sure what their TV situation is.

Apparently Westgate has canceled this because of lack of customers

Odd - I was at Westgate this past Sunday and it seemed quite busy despite the new $5 fee.

ETA: Although the theater seemed as full as it did when I last visited a few years ago, there were noticeably no lines for drinks/food at any time where I recall having to always wait in a line in the past. I wonder at the economics of it - when there was no entrance fee there might have been more of a moral imperative to purchase food/drink from them in exchange for the free viewing party.

Was there Sept 25 and it was noticeably less crowded than usual. The 5 bucks did get you your first beer which they charge 3 dollars for. They also had a breakfast burrito and after 11 hot dogs and a philly cheese steak which I think were 3 and 7 respectively. Agreed that the beer and food lines which could be long in the past were open at almost all times this trip.

Is this true? I'm planning to be there on Sunday if Hurricane Matthew doesn't spoil my plans.

Actually I had to postpone my trip for two weeks because of Hurricane Matthew, so I'm still interested in this topic. Las Vegas Advisor is also reporting that the doors were locked this past Sunday without any notices posted. http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/whatsnews.cfm#22917

I'm really bummed about this. The STRAT did a great job with their party and I wish they would reconsider. I think the place would be packed now that the Westgate has cancelled their party. They would probably get more action on the blackjack tables in there too if they weren't 6/5.

It's too bad that The Westgate closed this down.
I went once before Westgate took over property.

I didn't see anything mentioned on their twitter, so assumed it was still closed this past Sunday and went elsewhere.
